I actually picked up some ballast point today after work. I got the piper down pumpkin seasonal brew.
Good to see you drink out of a proper glassware this time Rat and not that faggy wine glass. now what you really need, to be the ultimate badass like me, is a drinking horn.
Gotta have ice in water. I don't like straight tap water unless it's winter because then it literally come frozen. Has to be cold as ice and then I find it to be so refreshing.
Got a few pumpkin beers for tonight. At the moment I am drinking Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale. It's nice, but nothing close to my favorite pumpkin ale.
Moving on to Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin. This one has a rather funky taste. It's not bad, but I am not impressed either. It's smooth and has a nice body and mouthfeel, but flavor-wise it leaves a lot to be desired. It has a weird, metallic taste... almost like there's blood in it. lol
I didnt like the first 5 or 6 pumpkin beers i ever had. I wanted a pumpkin pie taste and they all failed. There are a few now that taste like it.
Southern Tier Imperial Pumking is by far the best pumpkin ale I've had. None of the others have come close.
Just had one yesterday. I agree. Kickbox and rolling were both saying elysian (sp) was there favorite. I dont remember ever having it.
Elysian has several pumpkin ales which are supposedly very good, but I haven't seen them here yet... at least not at the grocery store. I haven't been to the beer store in ages, though, but I am sure they carry it. I'll definitely try to get my hands on at least one of them before the year is over.
Smuttynose Pumkin Ale is my favorite pumkin ale. Not a big fan of veg/fruit beers, but I do enjoy Smutty's version
