My Taste Of The Band Died After Hearing About This Announcement From The Grateful Dead.

I remember first learning to play along with the Grateful Dead. 15yr old poor boy, Peavey electric guitar, my amp was a Panasonic floor model tv set with duel speakers, my head was an Emerson beta machine.

I'm a nice enough guy but I don't want bad songs being played if I make it out to a show. I trust John Mayer with this one.

 

Exactly. But I would not be surprised if Billy, Mickey, Phil, and Bobby do not ever play together for cash.

I did not go to Chicago or Santa Clara but I just watched the shows from the comfort of home.

I live near NYC but I am not going to any of the shows as I saw the real GD and Phil/Bobby, and the other ones/dead shows while growing up, and I'm not a huge Mayer fan. If Trey was playing I would go.

 

Any good costume ideas anyone?

On a serious note, I will be cautious of 60 yo drugged out hippie chicks.

 

Why?

 

I'd actually be interested in hearing them with Oteil Burbridge. His style is drastically different than Phils with more of an R&B, Funk, Blues, Jazz/Fusion influence.

Listening to last nights show with Mayer right now. Honestly, the guy can play, he can sing but hearing him sing GD songs is not good for me. I'd rather hear Bob sing every song than to hear Mayer sing. Hell.....I'd rather hear Phil sing the entire set. Let that sink in.....I'd rather hear Phil SING THE ENTIRE SET.....by himself!! Mayer singing the songs sounds like a poppy American Idol version of the vocals. Stop that shit!

 

I'm currently accepting all unwanted tickets from people who's taste of the band died. Especially for SPAC, Pittsburgh, Hartford, and Boston.

yea ok john mayer has some talent. the show was pretty good and i'm definitely not going to hate on dead & company i think they are awesome.

but think about how many different people the dead could choose from to play with.

I do hope that he gets a bit better schooled in the music and the spirit of the music as time goes on... there was moment he sang franklins tower when he was like. some come to laugh their past away.. some come to make it just one more day.. (this part sounded great and bluesy... very soulful) then he goes... whichever way your please tends... if you plant ice.. if you plant ice... oh if you plant ice baby. (jeff chimenti gazes across a look of shocked disapproval) if you plant ice your going to harvest wind.

john mayer is kind of cool just for being on the Chappelle's show.

I feel bad that your taste in the band has died. I've always paid my own way anyway.

 

I offered to utilize unwanted tickets from people who lost their taste in the band. You know how the same people always have incredible seats because they are on mailing lists or something.
