I understand that actually. But I was focussing on that line of having n othing to lose.

You are voting on the democratic party to save what is left saving as you kind of explained (in different wording) yourself. Even though voting on them might still give you a republican in the end. Thus perpetuating the same old. If people have really nothing to lose they would be more open to try something different, even if it doesn't have any guaranteed result (voting democratic does not give you a guaranteed result either obviously).

It's kind of like this to me (with little exaggeration):

and I find it unfortunate to see that even the more progressive americans (or that's how they view themselves) are stuck in it. Just like they seem stuck in the blamegame.

Every job that can be moved overseas is already gone from here, but we could still lose all the progress in women's rights that has been made since 1955.

You COULD even lose much more. But to be clear I don't see that necessarily happening. I do see you guys losing more and more by keeping these 2 options (turd sandwich and douchebag) the main 2 ones. It is all quite hopeless if progressive America (rigid seperation of americans, I think it is not so clear divided as it seems) thinks the democratic party with Hillary Clinton as president is a solution. Although I am not sure you think she's a solution to anything, but perhaps merely the lesser evil. A postponing of something even worse. Seems not that constructive either. Seems supposedly progressive people have been voting for the lesser evil for decades...

Time is not on the side of the Republican leaders. Their supporters are getting older, and belong to ethnic groups with a constantly shrinking percentage of the vote. Two more four year Presidential terms may finish them, as a significant political force.

The older Bush used to be the US ambassador to China. He made a lot of connections with business leaders there, and pushed very hard for free trade with China during his one term. His son finished what he started.

Bill Clinton pushed mostly for North American free trade. There were already very few trade restrictions with Canada at that time, and Mexico has not made much use of their improved opportunity. They still lack the political stability and manufacturing infrastructure to compete with China.

Clinton was mostly neutral on Chinese trade, taking no action to reverse what Bush had done.

He was also ahead of his time in terms of sexual adventures, so he wasn't all bad. ;)

At least Bernie combed his hair for his official pic. Too often, especially on a windy day, he looks too much like John C. Calhoun, infamous SC nutcase. :-( Yikes!

Blame is very important, you can't properly assess any of this without laying blame.

But like everything else, fox and the right have a crazy victim complex, and constantly repeat irrational hysterical blame for things that are not even real, on democrats, even when the democrats agree with the fucking republicans blaming them.

    Blame wisely, but absolutely blame.

I think it's better to let the evil hit everyone in the face at once, so we possibly stir things up enough to successfully demand some change. Don't settle for the lesser evil, if you've got to vote evil go all out, then the greater evil can't blame the lack of evil for the shit results of evil.

If we have to fuck up the court and make the environment take it a little longer, so be it - it's better to slowly do much greater damage for much longer before people wake up - gotta wake up before it's too late, even if it requires letting the right have more success faster.

One thing I've noticed about having a Republican president in office, the downtown streets are overwhelmed by homeless folks. And this is due to all the health care cuts. If nothing else, I believe everyone deserves a safe roof over their head. That's why I vote Democrat :)

My Mum used to maintain that she used to hang out with an heir to the KFC empire in the late 60's or early 70's.I never could fathom the truth or lie of some of the stories she used to tell.

Huh, not sure I quite get this? Elaborate please :)

P.S. I was an employee of KFC for a grand total of one week. I quit my job (even though I needed the income big time), because I came in direct contact with the cruelty and lies that they practice on a daily basis. Fuck that shit.

Well, given our dismal election result here, I have changed my mind about voting for the 'lesser evil'. I may as well have voted in line with my own values and voted Green, which in future is the way I will be voting.
