Just curious, how does this film rate when compared to 9½ Weeks (starring Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke - 1986)? Which movie is more true to the BDSM subculture? I totally enjoyed 9½ Weeks, but won't be able to see Fifty Shades of Grey until it's available on DVD. Which movie is the best one to see in order to get a true sense of the BDSM lifestyle? Or are both totally lacking in realism? You really got me wondering
Begs the question; what is the sexiest movie of all time Is itt about the story or one particular celeb you have it bad for Does a non-sexy movie with a celeb you have a big crush on trump another movie thats sexy but with celebs you are not gagging for?
Interesting P.S. Yesterday, I passed by the theatre on my way to the store, and there was a totally long line of folks waiting to see this movie. I wonder if it's considered really cool to see this flick (like it was when Deep Throat was first released) ? Lots of couples (not just single men). BTW, Lovelace - 2013, was a pretty good movie (IMO). Not really sure why it didn't do better at the box office than it did. I guess most of the public would rather believe that Linda Lovelace was having the time of her life, instead of being manipulated and abused by both her husband and the porn industry.....
These feet were made for walking..... talking about feet.... so this movie is basically about domination and submission?
I haven't seen the movie but the books are not really about BDSM. So, unless they did a major rewrite on this stuff it's about a virgin college girl who gets seduced by this business tycoon who likes to play rough. Except she's not really submissive. Also she absolutely needs to rescue the guy from himself. Oh, and there are helicopters in this stuff. And she gets to try anal like the day after he pops her cherry. And in the end they live happily ever after. Yawn.
Just hearing the characters names makes it sound corny. Like a bad Harlequin romance with BDSM. It's funny that when the book came out it was panned by the BDSM community for being too unrealistic. Now they are getting shit from feminist movement for being unrealistic in other ways. C/S, Rev J
Ugh, I didnt realise until the Oscars that Dakota Johnson was Melanie Griffiths daughter, with Don Johnson So she is burdened with the skank gene I definatlely cant watch the movie now, ewww
I would say, "There's always the books" but I had heard some reviewers say it was poorly written. Actually, that seemed to be the consensus. Found this meme on facebook. Glad they left that line out of the movie. Among other comments were, "I want to find Christian Grey's dentist and get an HD IMAX smile"
Fifty Shades Of Grey Maybe because of my upbringing, maybe my age,, but sorry people -> I get it.. but ...trash eee flick
I also forgot Griffith was Tippi hedrens daughter, so Dakota is grandkid of hollywood royalty From The Birds, which is 52 years old through to Fifty Shades
I didn't get the ending. Why didn't Anastasia just use the code word? Also, why didn't Christian just advertise for a submissive on a BDSM forum or something since Ana obviously wasn't into it?
Because Ana wanted to appear like she could take it. She didn't want to believe Christian would hurt her. Because its a movie and getting some chick off craigslist wouldn't be as exciting. The movie was incredibly cheesy. I think there were parts that were supposed to be sexy that I laughed at. I only think that because I was the only one in the theater laughing.
Well, some old guy was gonna merge this with the 50 Shades thread, but forgot that the last URL he copied was for The Last Witch Hunter. Anyhow, the answer to the question might be somewhere in the last 36 posts - or not.
