It's not as if the republicans have a hidden agenda. What's amazing to me is that the people for which they have the most disdain and hatred, continue to vote them into office. Romneys 47% slacker population is much more than mere slackers,as he said. Truly indicative of their real feelings toward those of a "lesser station." But the "slackers" do seem to be dumber than dirt around election time in constantly returning those who continually attempt to take more and more from working class folks in order to enrich themselves. Annnnnd-those who admire and almost worship the 1% and their money shenanigans abide, even in the middle class. It's a rigged game. We're born into it, and we play it according to rules established by those who benefit the most. If the rules need adjusting--they're adjusted to facilitate those who make them. It's what they do and who they are. The "47%" are the treadmill zombies and the cannon fodder for the 1%.
What percentage of those voters admit that they will always vote for the anti-abortion candidate, no matter what else he believes? I know it has to be a high number. Saddest part of it is, the GOP is never going to outlaw abortion. It's like an animal chasing a carrot on a stick. No matter how fast they run, they're never going to be allowed to reach that carrot. If they did, the incentive value would be gone.
I know a lot of Christians that vote Republican just because of their abortion stance. It doesn't matter that the Republicans are totally anti-Christian in many other areas like war and care for poor people.
Transparency: Pulling the abortion issue out of their back pocket when everything else is not going their way...
So, right now, the Senate is voting for the FOURTH time to move forward with the funding for Homeland Security. I am certain it will end just like the other three votes and the bill will be blocked. This is complete idiocy by Boehner, McConnell and Republican Party. Both parties actually completely agree on funding HS, but this is going nowhere because House Republicans couldn't resist risking a shutdown by attaching poison pill language that blocks Obama's leadership on immigration. The sensible thing is to have clean funding bill which would pass easily. And for immigration, all the Republicans have to do is allow a vote on the bipartisan immigration bill. In short order, Boehner and McConnell could solve both of these problems to the satisfaction of both parties, but they won't. They insist on being Republican assholes.
And one of the biggest supporters is the one with the Ayn Rand quote on all his posts. Anyone ever read that tripe and agree that she was right -morally-in her thinking? I think in a modern way--Leona Helmsley personified Rands view of "the little people." The Captains of industry are the real heroes of Rands work. The "little people" just get in their "NOBLE" WAY OF making money at anyone and everyones expense. At least Individuals' posts are polite, quite unlike mine can be. You get to be 75, having lived through Roosevelt through Obama and having seen how and what republicans are politically and how much they have attempted --for lack of a better term--to destroy this country---to destroy the middle class (it's working)------------I don't fuckin' like 'em!! They will keep chipping at and denigrating ANY AND ALL ideas that will slow the transference of money to themselves and their dumbed down sycophants will continue to vote them in. Where in hell is Harry Truman when we need him? Or any progressives with sacks that have actual balls in them?
It took four votes for the idiotic Republicans to realize they couldn't force thru the funding for Homeland Security with all the poison attached. So now, McConnell says he will split off the poison into a separate bill, apparently creating a clean funding bill that Democrats will vote for before the Friday deadline. So, you would think that solves it, yes? No, because the House has to vote for it and House Republicans hate Obama so much that it isn't clear at all that they will vote for a clean bill that doesn't put down Obama. So, we still don't know what will happen. Boehner says he will wait for the new Senate bill before he decides anything. We could very well have another Republican-inflicted government shutdown.
To paraphrase: They're playing the fiddle while we burn. I suppose they'll get their shit together when the MONEY IS RIGHT! Depends on their marching orders, though. And those orders ain't coming from us.
its too bad Mr Obama has lost his majorities in The House and Senate. These losses have not caused any introspection though. Mr. & Mrs. Obama have gotten what they deserved with the 114th Congress. No sympathies from this quarter. Rahem Emmanuel, where have you gone? is Valerie Jarrett running the White House?
As far as I know, this week was the first time an opposition party (Republican) has ever had a foreign head of state (Israel) to address the US Congress on the flaws of the current US President's foreign policy. It's just another outrageous way for the GOP to tell Obama to go fuck himself.
I vote straight GOP every time, but do feel a woman's body is hers to do as she wishes! Only time I have a problem with it is, if the father is in the picture and has security, knocks up a slut who's on her 6th abortion. IMO he should have just as much say, it takes two! Plus if willing, able and stable, why oppose it? Then again, just offer her $$, all women have a price!
Senate Republicans have sent a letter to Iran, warning them that any nuclear agreement reached with Obama will be canceled as soon as he leaves office. This is the first time in US history that a political party has advised a foreign country not to deal with the President of the United States. Do we no longer have laws against treason? Why is Mitch McConnell not in jail today?
I know that. The law is no longer enforced. Treason is effectively legal. If he wants to, Mitch McConnell can send a letter to Vladimir Putin saying that Russia will be attacked if he ever speaks to Obama again. If Obama doesn't totally go to war against McConnell on every possible level, he's a total pussy. It's time for McConnell to be denounced as a traitor, and an opponent of democracy. Otherwise, every country will need to create two separate foreign policies for dealing with America, one for each party.
Maybe there's another letter different from the one I read, but what I found in the text of the letter I read was, an explanation of how our Constitutional form of government works along with a strong suggestion that any agreement reached with our president, to be lasting will have to be acceptable by Congress. No where in the letter I read did it say that "any nuclear agreement reached with Obama will be cancelled as soon as he leaves office", or advise Iran "not to deal with the President of the United States". Rather than make the letter a political issue at home Obama could have, and still could use the letter as a means of strengthening his hand in showing Iran that as a result not only he, but also our Congress must approve any agreement reached. It's a shame there were no Democrat signatures on the letter. Both parties should stand behind a President in showing our commitment in reaching agreements with other nations that all our citizens find acceptable. Mitch McConnell did not commit an act of treason, but I would like to see him replaced as majority leader.
