works great if your teeth are hurting after the dentist the smoke coats my gums and teeth relaxes them
Me too. Had some once from southern Mexico that was totally trippy, time/space bending shit. I kept repeating things, forgetting if I'd done it, maybe 5 minutes earlier. Good thing my jobs were less demanding back then,,lol. I'd pay good money for that stuff today.
Plus it might help to pick a strain to grow that originally came from that region. I wonder about the growers back then, if they let the trichomes turn amber, or if they picked it while they were clear or milky. I would guess clear or milky, but I can't recall,,
and it took maybe a year for it to come to market.. many times I smoke this fresh medical bud and I taste to much chlorophyll , sure the bud gets you stoned, but that leafy taste makes my teeth feel funny.
^^^^Exactly, and it makes me cough more, that too greeny stuff. then it turns to dust when it drys out too. Properly cured stuff tends to stay leathery. Not only is it less hygroscopic, it doesn't instantly dry out if you leave the bag unsealed.
Just had something called "monkeyballs". Very nice. Got me going on some old-school youtubin' I'm always searching for "that" strain, the one I would want forever if I could only have one. I've come up with mostly sativas, one indica, but there are plenty of strains I haven't tried yet. I could thrive on monkeyballs. I don't know what that says about me, but it seems to put me in the groove, baby. I could ride, ride like the wind,,,
Monkey balls, lol.. the ridiculous and juvenile names they have for weed these days, I swear. Remember when weed used to be named only for the growing region and quality? I had some shit recently that was pretty reminiscent from a local grower. Unfortunately he's a drunken asshole so I actually got it through another person. It wasn't real pretty, but it had a nice taste and the buzz was a happy one, lively and creative. Non of the 'wasted' feelings you get from a lot of the indica heavy strains that are so prevalent these days.
"Wasted" is right. I can't stand that feeling, the feeling that my brain is "dead". I don't think that's what "deadheads" are all about,,lol. It's the indicas. A lot of them are just "deadening" to the mind. Not what I was looking for, in specific. I remember, back in the day, when some of my friends and I were doing pot and uppers (dexidrine, desoxin, speed, etc.), and others were doing pot and downers ("reds", tuinol, other barbiturates), which I just didn't understand. My goal was not to be "intoxicated" or "inebriated" to the point of stumbling or passing out. I wanted the euphoria, the ideas, the jokes, the laughter, and the social life. Present tense, I often do need something to help me sleep. I have RLS (restless leg syndrome), so I end up either using a heavy indica for that, or some sativa combined with rewarding sex. That usually works. Either way, it's either that, or marching in place for an hour or so,, lol. But that "sativa buzz",,that's a "must-have". It takes the edge off listening to my wife all day. She's very OCD, and has to be either "teaching" someone, or just repeating what she's reading, just to feel as if she's either "being appreciated", or "doing something meaningful". She's "non-stop". It irritates people to no end, but I have to live with it. Being in a pot-induced "haze" helps a lot. Otherwise, we just argue a lot over whether or not we listen to music, or her meticulous transcription of books she's been reading or listening to on tape. Sometimes I wish the local library would limit her a bit,,haha. I don't like life being "narrated" to me by someone who feels compelled to act as my "educator". It's a form of condescension I don't need. Pot gives me the "buzz" that makes it all very tolerable. It also works to give her the impression that she's being heard, listened to, instead of avoided. But yeah, I do remember when everything was named for where it grew. The variety of names today tend to mislead, and also make one dependent upon the advice of the budtender, which isn't always helpful. Some of my favorite strains today are Green Crack, Mr Nice, AK-47, White Widow, Durban Poison, GrandDaddy Purple, Bubba Kush, Kosher Kush, Lamb's Bread, Maui Waui Some projected favorites, based on what I hear: Amnesia Haze, LSD, Panama Red, Skywalker, but it's all in the growing, the purging, etc. anyone can ruin a good strain by substandard growing techniques. I'd grow some myself, but I don't think I can trust my wife to leave it alone. She's unpredictable. I wouldn't want to put a lot of effort into growing some good weed just to see it disappear in a moment from one of her angry moods. Or worse, she might call the cops and try to get me arrested. It happens. Well, it's time to "roll another one, just like the other one",, (another thing that bugs me is how they put "OG" on the end of many strain names here in Cali. I don't think ANYONE really "knows" what that means. It's just turned into a "port-manteau" for "stronger weed". Some say it means "ocean-grown", implying a strain from California, while others deny it. The story goes that someone had some good pot, and when asked if it was "mountain-grown", he said, "No, man, this is ocean-grown." Who knows.
Concerning the subject matter of this thread,,"Weed for pain relief",,, I think mostly that's what weed is used for, for various types of pain. Social pain, physical pain, psychological pain. It's all addressing various forms of discomfort or pain. It's painful to be alone, and weed facilitates sociability. It's painful to worry excessively, and weed can solve that. Then, there are the various forms of physical pain that weed addresses. I used to argue with the father of one of my girlfriend's girlfriends, about the legitimacy of weed, as a social remedy. To me, it's always been a medicine, useful for various types of discomfort. Tonight, I'm enjoying some White Widow. Powerful stuff. Just a hit or two and I'm "there". It has that "dusty" look on the surface of the buds. I think I'll roll a j of Sour Diesel. I'm still assessing it's value, between hits on my favs. I tend to think the Sour Diesel is a bit too much on the "heavy" side. If so, it gets eliminated from "the list" of "go-to" strains. Seems a very popular strain here in Cali. Constantly evaluating, evaluating,,, keepin' it "real",, lol. My wife gave me a reprieve tonight. She wanted a ride to the library, but reconsidered, deciding to just pay the fine and keep the CD another day. I've always wondered how someone can act as a judge in weed competitions. You have to smoke so much, in such a short amount of time, it would seem difficult to distinguish one from the other. Hmmm,,
Still smoking those Js, eh? There's something about a righteous toke, that's for sure. It's really something not to worry about the smell, isn't it. Or to stand at the counter and ask to see the Durban Poison (indeed, a great one), Lamb's Bread (yeah), Blue Widow (amazing) - and decide on which one!!! Or just get a gram or whatever of each. Have you been to any grower's fairs like at Santa Rosa?
Sometimes I feel like weed intensifies the pain actually, or at times I will literally feel pain I've yet to notice. It's numbing though, the intensity is something I can seem to control at will while stoned. Though this seems to be more muscular aches and pains, direct pain like I stub my toe or something will still get me kicking air and an abundance of foul language.
"Numbing" isn't a word I would use to describe the effects of mj on pain. One effect is something like being on a slightly different plane so that the relationship with the pain changes. Also, mj can be distracting, so that a person kind of forgets about the pain. And there are the non-psychoactive anti-inflammatory effects which affect pain (this is where high CBD cannabis shines).
