Crap, I just gave this posting a 5 star rating. For sure I meant the opposite. The Western Allies are up against a foe every bit as dangerous as the NAZIS and IMPERIAL JAPAN. My mistake. Yes torture is not a good thing. But at times is necessary. These Jihadis torture people just for the fun of it. There are times when torture can yield information that SAVES thousands of peoples lives.

I think that I know Theprodu, because he mentioned a "Sensei". That's a Japanese word for "Teacher" it is used in Japan during the student and teacher relationship in the martial arts. It is an almost sacred and very formal kind of relationship. The man I know lived in Japan when he was stationed there with the US NAVY, he married a Japanese woman, and learned to speak fluent Japanese. He also trained NAVY SEALS in the martial arts. I very much doubt Theprodu is a "PUNK ASS" as you claim.

Thank's Stormo. And my apologies to seals that are actually gay. (It's not that I actually have anything against homosexuality, It's that I just don't get it.)

Bottom line, when it comes to the kind of torture outlined in the report, and as a citizen of a country thats supposedly a beacon of freedom and justice, I thought we were better than that... and thats what our leaders told us. They Lied.

    Shame on the C.I.A.

    Shame on America.

I liked your post, but to be clear, I don't really put any stock in the term 'evil'. I don't think evil exists.
Only aberrations of the mind, of which we are all capable.

I know that you are right in a way. I think there is evil when we take for instance the intent of a person. With all other components of judgement are absent, intent can be evil. And all people are capable of having that condition. Mastering one's own mind is a central point in many eastern religions, or antithesis of religion, as they look at the world. I do my best to start each day with good intentions toward my fellow humans, and non-humans (like dogs frogs, or monkeys) and often I am rewarded with hateful treatment. Many humans have not developed enough to understand good will. They don't know how to react to kindness. Many people react with distrust when someone is kind to them. They think the kindness is a front to gain the best of them.

    In my mind, no.

I feel like the term evil has supernatural and religious connotations. Like the satan of the bible, evil can never be forgiven.

Don't let 'em get you down man. One person might react in distrust, but you don't know who is watching.

Your actions create waves that touch more that you can possibly be aware of.

I'm no paragon of good intent but I do try to work on myself these days more than trying to identify what or who is doing something to me.
