Here it's also first my nose, hands and feet that get cold and I regard that as my warning sign. Personally I love the cold (except when I have a cold, but even then it feels great to go outside, dressed warm of course, and catch some fresh air).
To me to avoid staying cold when it's cold outside the solution is to put the heat on already before you go outside (yeah that sounds really simple :p). Of course when you work 8 hours it seems a bit of a waste to heat your place for so long when nobody's making use of it but when you go out to watch a ball game and you keep your living room around room temperature or lets say 2 degrees warmer, how long does it take for you to feel nice and warm again?

my temperature used to stay around 96.7 back in the day when I ate like crap and never exercised. I was constantly cold. Not saying you eat like crap and don't exercise lol, I really don't know. But those two factors do probably play an important role in temperature regulation.

The problem once I get home is a factor. Our furnace is broken so we heat with electric heaters which we can't leave on while we're gone.

Two weekends ago, the house was 60F when we returned home at night.

That sucks... Electric heaters in general suck big time to heat a house with as most of them waste a lot of energy.

If it gets super cold, we run the kerosene heaters and blow it around with box fans.

    How does that work out?

And do you also have a lot of trouble getting warm again in other places? If not, I think the answer to your problem is: get a well functioning heating system :p And of course (if it isn't the case already) good isolation, otherwise the heat has left the house before get in.

The kerosene heaters and moving air with the box fans works great. We did it for several years. We swapped to the electric heaters when the kerosene handling became messy and heavy for us.

We just can't stay away from home for long periods of time during cold weather.

If you go outside and stay active up until the point you start to sweat, you won't feel cold once you go inside.

Also hot showers work wonders. I usually take one everyday in the winter.

I also use hot showers to realign my spine.

Real HOT water on the back loosens muscles (quicker and better than tiger balm), enabling you to straighten out.

    I wish I had a jacuzzi.

I have a cheap tub with jets but they suck - they don't even hit any good spots and the tub is too small.

We had to replace the only tub in the house because it was cracked. Used a Saws All to cut it into pieces that would fit out of the door frame.

Another tub would have caused us to have to enlarged the door frame into the bathroom.

We replaced it with a shower because it would fit through the door.

We now have two showers and no tub.

It's okay. With the arthritis in my knee, I couldn't get out of a tub anyway.

On my dream list is the tub you walk into and the door shuts like a car door.

    Never gonna happen $$$

But, yeah, showers feel awesome on the muscles.

There may be a number of things that you can do about the home heating issue as well as the particular issue of feeling cold at the grand kid's games.

You can get a home energy audit. In many cases, states offer these for free. It's also possible to do your own home energy audit and do some relatively simple/low cost modifications

    http://energy.gov/public-services/homes/home-weatherization/home-energy-audits

according to this, Georgia Power offers energy audits ( not clear if they charge a fee for the audit or not)

    http://www.atlantarealestateforum.com/georgia-power-energy-audit-22402/

You could also be eligible for home heating assistance

    https://portal.hud.gov/hudportal/HUD?src=/states/georgia/renting/energyprgms

Sometimes city and town governments offer home improvement grants.

Calling 211 or visiting 211.org might give more information about heating assistance and audits.

Even if you can't get assistance, getting the furnace fixed or replaced could pay off in the long run. You may want to calculate your current energy costs, the costs of repair or replacement of your furnace (and anticipated energy costs), and interest on a home improvement loan.

A simple way to not get so cold while watching the game is to cut down on the amount of time that you spend watching. You might be able to watch just the last 45 minutes of the game. If there is a building or parking area nearby, you might be able to watch from indoors.

As much as I'm sure your grand kids love you, they probably don't give a shit, or even notice if you watch all or even any of the game.

If you smoke or drink a lot (not saying you do...I have no idea) that can definitely affect your circulation which will make you cold. Also, wearing a hat makes a big difference. Most of your heat escapes through your head.

Furnace replacement via gas providers are usually and or only for the customers on service for the last 3/5 year. They must own the home, and have at least one person with medical needs,(doctors note) and or elderly .. not trying to shoot you down newbie. but thats how it goes.

I bought these cool little gel packs on the weekend and you boil them in water and the liquid goes soft and flowing and then there's a metal button in the pack and you push it and then there's a chemical reaction where the liquid turns hard as a rock but maintains all this heat. It really is cool. Then once it's over you boil it again. I have a back, neck and hand warmer style pack and they're already pretty nifty. Making them heat up while already hot from boiling water gives it a heat punch. =] granted, I think they're meant for muscles and aches, but hot water bottle attitude for me. xD
