    Need for survival.

What should I be "allowed" to desire and what is considered excess?

I do not believe you do understand the ways the words are being used, or the connections being drawn, or (no offense) that you will ever be able to abstract the types of conclusions we're talking about.

Your brain just doesn't work that way.

Why don't you tell me what you think I don't understand. Surely, you could sum it up.

So need for survival is the cause of suffering? What keeps you from your desire?

Need for survival is just a necessary condition of being born (or evolved). I am made of cells. I need molecules to go into them so that they continue to function.

Nothing keeps me from my desire to survive. I want to survive.

Do you not desire to survive?

Actually I desire to be helpful being and surviving the same not really desiring what I already have but lending appreciation to it. If nothing keeps you from desire then why does it cause suffering?

I didn't say it did cause suffering. That is what I'm arguing against. I'm trying to find out why they think this suffering exists in the first place. I don't desire any more than I need to survive. If I had more, maybe I would go on a trip to Papau New Guinea or Tanzania or something.

I don't understand what is this "suffering" they are talking about?

Okay.... but to say that "all existence is misery" is a bit of a stretch. There's some good and some bad.

    Why?

    You already summed it up.

I don't think I did. Unless there's something I'm missing. You are saying that it's outside the grasp of my comprehension to understand these concepts.

I don't understand the concept of "all existence is misery?"

I don't understand the concept of "ignorant craving?"

And when I cut out this ignorant craving, existence will cease to be miserable? Was I miserable in the first place?

Unless I'm missing something, then Gautama did not have the answers.

    What am I missing?

You are saying nothing. If there is some "wisdom" you think you have.... you should be able to say it in plain English.

So you are saying nothing. Just to be clear. You are saying absolutely nothing. If you actually had anything to say, you would be able to say it in English.

    I'm waiting......

Stop waiting, you already summed it up, several times.

You said what you don't understand, how could I say it better than you?
