Is that all? I think you need another baby.

It was just 2 weeks this Thursday. I checked it last week and it looked fine, doing its thing (as the "aroma" suggested, lol). I'll probably work on it tomorrow. Put the lids on and label them, put one of each in the fridge and the rest in the cool room. Is there anything special I need to do to it, or just lid and store (and eat!)?

A lot of good meals here!

I made a garlic mushroom linguine today, with tomato and fresh basil. And crème brûlée for dessert. Yum!

So far I made my "power porridge" for breakfast (oatmeal with dried raisins, cinnamon, brown sugar and a spoonful of hemp seeds), and pizza and salad for lunch. Tonight it's gonna be a typical armenian dish tho, chicken and rice! I just boil a whole chicken in water, with pepper, a LOT of whole cloves (like a handful or something) and a diced onion, simmer for like 2 hours or until the meat falls off the bone, then enjoy with rice and some of the cooking juice.

I usually do or have a white rice-wild rice mix, even brown rice is good with that dish so go for what you like. :)

Looks delish! I am so jealous and I am going to call friends mom and raid her cold storage. :) I ran out a few months ago and have not made any. I know that Gloria always does so I am going to take advantage of that.

Tonight we had smoked sausages, perogies with sour cream, broccoli and a tomato, cucumber salad. See how great the cabbage would have gone with that meal? :)

I have found myself in possession of several pounds of roasted beets. Anyone have any recommendations on how to use them? I've used them to replace the oil in brownies, eaten them plain, and used on salads. What else?

You're right, Heat, that meal is screaming for kimchi or sauerkraut! I finally tasted my kimchi. I think I went a little heavy on the red chile and fresh ginger. But it was very tasty, if a bit too spicy hot.

The only thing I've made with beets is borscht. But I use fresh beets. Can you use roasted beats for a soup? It's been a while since I've made borscht, I suddenly have a craving for it. :-D

Borscht! I haven't had that in such a long time, it's delicious! But I'm a pathetic cook, I'll have to find an aunt or cousin willing to make me some.

Oh and cute festive avatar, Lucy. Nice to see you're already in the holiday spirit. ;-)

Ha ha! You certainly are! Well, I'd say your chances are looking good. You can't spell 'lucky' without Lucy. :-D

What do you think of my Christmas piggy? He should come in handy for a busy holiday season.
