My brother also plays the guitar, piano and drums but producing is also something he does and I don't think takes less talent then when he ...plays the drums for instance.

Shrugs. Whatever.

 

First of all West walks into a studio where Sound Engineers have been working for days to give him OPTIONS of specific samples the Sound Engineers have selected.

They do the same for the beat.

West comes in and DOES WHAT ANY MORON ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET EARTH COULD DO!!!!

Sound Engineers say..."Hey Key?" Which beat you want to use?"

Key says..."4 x 4 with a 6 x 4 change before we use the Michael Jackson...WOOOOOP!"

20 Minutes later a MANUFACTURED POP STAR SINGER is sent in and Key tells her..."I want you so say in Urbanomics....'GET YO FACE OTTA MY FACE AND KISS MY ASS BIATCH!"

They Key say's...."But Honey....when you say YO....instead say....YOUR...in a British/Jamaican accent...OK?"

Morons making noises for other Morons who play concerts for Morons.

People who think playing a Harmonic is what Robert Plant is doing during the song......Nobody's Fault but Mine....wait....scratch that.....they wouldn't even understand that reference.

Does any of that equipment include a grande piano, any guitar, drums that are not electronic or any other instrument other than keys with a Roland Str56 Sampler?

My next door neighbor can play the same instruments....but why is it Key doesn't play them on stage?

Because he is at the same level of ability as the kid next door!

Producing and playing an instrument require different approaches to music and there are definitely some very talented producers out there. However, generally speaking I think learning to play an instrument requires a ton more dedication, skill development and technical know how.


I don't listen to much Kanye West but I don't see him as innovative as some made him out to be. It seems aside from abusing auto tune alot of his seemingly 'cutting edge' stuff was being done by underground hip hop and some electronic producers for the previous decade or so.

Just about every true musical instrument playing musician can do what West does....and do it better.

Key West is allowed to do what he does because there are a large number of kids out there that have absolutely no idea that everything that is part of a West Song or a West PRODUCED song....is a piece of sampled music or vocals from a true Singer of Musician.

Afer seeing Key West basically get BOOED OFF THE STAGE at the Superstorm Sandy Relief Concert.....and I really listened to West sing and his accompanied keriokee and I can honestly say without any preconceptions of West that it was the worse set of music I have EVER listened to live.

But let me tell you hip hop in general can sometimes really suck live. It just... doesn't go together right, probably because all the added things aren't there. I've seen some hip hop/rap artists live that I LOVE....and....they really weren't that great at all live. Disappointing really.

 

There is a reason for this.

They suck in concert because their voices are DIGITALLY TIME MATCHED and even if they are singing out of key during their vocal session we can digitally tune their harmonies.

I actually enjoy a number of Hip Hop songs and artists....good dancing music and I like to dance and since a large percentage of the U.S. Military are Brother's....everyone at some time get's to force everyone else listen to their favorite music.

But Key West....he is an embarassment.
