    If god had a funny worm looking thing that makes him/her/it make stupid decisions and shoots white stuff out of it, and a crazzy looking hole that does all kinds of crazy shit, I'm a little disappointed in god's level of creativity. ;)

    Seriously though, I think we are all a part of "god" and basically are "god", therfore "god" works with the full range of masculine to feminine.

    So we have the Taoist image:

    ...and that explains it all.

    Although this post of mine is not directly about GOD...it is about the above Taoist Image and Yin and Yang.

    I am an expert in a number of Martial Arts but I have always had arguments with Masters that spend ENDLESS UPON ENDLESSS HOURS OF TIME....preaching about Yin and Yang....Balance....and using the Chi in Tai Chi.

    You see....the only thing that really matters and I admit Balance is very important but depending upon what you are trying to do...Unbalancing the Equasion can be vastly more deadly....the ONLY thing that matters is .....F=MA....and knowledge of Human Anatomy.

    F=MA means Force = Mass x Acceleration.

    I believe it was Discovery Channel who paid the Masters of just about all known MartialArts to both Punch and Kick Human Form Gel Torso's so that each Martial Art Style could be rated to Force inflicted upon the target.

    Masters of Karate, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, American Boxing, UFC....etc...all took turns punching and with the exception of the Boxer...Kicking the Human Gel Form Torso's.

    Each Master talked about why they thought their particular Martial Art would allow them to win the contests.

    Winner.

    Strike to the Head....American Boxer.

    Winner.

    Kick to the Torso...American UFC Former Champion.

    WHY?

    And why did the world renown best Masters in Karate and Kung Fu strike at close to 50% less force?

    F=MA Friends!!!

    No, F=MA is an equal equation regardless whether you use 50% less of 50% more force. You are not describing the cause of any force differential by saying F=MA.
    The reason why the scenario you described occurs is that matter has three properties, absorption, refection, and polarity.

    indeed, for a thing to be ultimately supreme, it cannot posses in incompeteness of possess only half or less of the sort of gender polarity common to what we know of 'higher' life forms, of our own world.
    our lack of such knowlegde of worlds beyond our own, being by far the more monumental as well.

    Depends what your concept of God is, for some people God can be the sun or pure energy, in which case there would be no gender.

    If your god is yaweh, this is patently untrue, man is the exact likeness of yaweh, though this may mean that yaweh has ribs that can grow into women - but the big guy is a guy, no ifs ands or buts.

    which begs the question: does he have a penis? if so why?

    I dont know which would be weirder, if he did have a penis there must be a female god right? and if not, hes like a Ken doll?

    That depends on how you translate the relevant passage, and how literally you take it. I think "man" who is created in God's image is better translated "humankind", because Genesis also says God "created them male and female". Quite often whan the Bible uses "man" it is obviously referring to all humanity. Also, when Genesis says we were created in God's image and likeness it isn't talking about genetalia or other bodily characteristics. "God is spirit" (John 4:24), so the image and likeness refers to the immaterial part of humans that sets us apart from the animal world , as a rational, volitional, and moral agent. Incidentally, I owe my Chistian faith to this passage, which took on new meaning to me during a moment of clarity. From then on, I see God in eveery human I encounter.

    i'm essentially of this catigory. to me, god is this really well meaning non-pysical thing. and pretending to know any more about it then that, is mostly a matter of letting our imaginations run away with themselves because a bunch of people did the same thing a long time ago and wrote books about it.

    yeah but....

    he created man in his image, and created woman from man.

    That seems to me to make females more like a reprise version of man.

    Of course, I know, there's lots of contradiction and such anyway - and yes, the important part of man's image is mostly our consciousness.

    The consciousness within both sexes is the same. The differences exist at physical, emotional and mental levels. They exist because that's how complex biological units reproduce.

    If we assume that God is a purely spiritual being then it is not really appropriate to ascribe sexual characteristics. To see the Divine as a father or a mother is really only a way humans have of trying to fit the indefinable into mental categories.

    So in Hinduism you have Krishna and you have Kali - and really they're the same One. Something we can perhaps glimpse, but never put into our rationalistic little pigeon-holes of definition.
