They used to... Now it's considered "camping"

 

homeless people tend to set up camp where ever they wont be told they ant.....such as a rest stop...the ones here along the 401 are super nice....most are located beside a body of water and quite nice to sit and/or camp......

we also have rest stops with gas station restaurant complexes and those you are allowed to pull in and sleep 1 night,.....they don't enforce it to harshly though

those lots have hundreds of tractor trailors also sleeping

 

I've come here to vent (gripe) and discuss how stupid and Twilight Zone my life is...

I've lost my tracfone that I've had since 2009. I lost it between the drive-thru at the bank and here.

I've done everything but take the seats out of the Crown Vic...and that is a hell of a big car to look over, and over, and turn inside out. :ack2:

So, I went and bought another tracfone (complete with camera and a bunch of crap I'll probably never use.)

I've been trying - IN VAIN - to get it "activated" since before 2:00, which is a little over 2 1/2 hours ago. GODALMIGHTY! :cuss:

I've talked to 2 different Not American people on the Tracfone line 2 different times and according to directions if it isn't activitated by 5:15, I can call them AGAIN if it still isn't activitated. lordhavmercy :banghead: I KNOW I did not have to go to through all this to get my original phone activitated. Perhaps its because I'm having my original number transfered to this other one.

Still though...right now I feel like its a good thing I can't Get To whomever is over this...I might go locked and loaded.

On long road trips we stay on the side of the road at road stations with all the truck drivers. =p it gets noisy though wih the diesels winding up all night.
Camp grounds are expensive here too.

When I drove through Nevada ten years ago... Not one single rest stop.

They want you to stay at the casinos. You see where this is headed?


No "camping" allowed in rest stops, over 1 hour is camping in Ohio I saw up to 3 hours on that trip above but nothing longer. Because there are campgrounds or motels that cost $$$ for you to stay at.... Businesses were involved in starting these rulings. Your lobbying money hard at work for the "betterment of the whole".

There are free camp sites around but you need tokens to use the showers. =p

 

Considering getting myself a boxing bag stand. I'd prefer to anchor something up to my garage roof but I'm not 100% confident the roof would hold my larger bag and the constant hiding I'd give it. Another advantage of a portable stand would be to place the thing wherever I wanted and not just in the garage during hot or cold days. The negative is basically a roof housed bolt is $27 versus $300 for the stand.

I use to have a bag stand but it took up too much room insidew, I did sell it.

I love having my bag outside. But I have to take it down in the winter which sucks...

No trees unfortunately. I could theoretically buy a touch more expensive stand than the ceiling bolt that anchors to the side of my house but what stops me is my place has nice rendered walls and I wouldn't want to risk cracking the render with a hammer drill or risk cracking the render when I go ninja nuts on the bag. What I need is a simple netball pole or something I can cement into my backyard like a clothes line.

 

No, I started in Mariposa and took the northern route through Sacramento, Truckee, Reno, etc. Barstow would have been out of my way.

wne t to the nude beach for a while and then went home and took molly. ate some delicious candy for a while and then went to the bar. I hated being there because for a dive bar, it was terrifyingly loud. but I won darts.

and then i got to stand in the car out the sunroof, and we hopped the fence to the neighborhood pool and went for a swim!

The doors are in the building... (Not the band, the other kind of doors) I'm losing my touch though... I never had to reset the hinges on my own install. Okay, not losing my touch, just my strength.... I dropped the door once too, caught it and didn't destroy anything. But shit man, dropping the door? Not good, It kinda twisted and rolled to the side, I grabbed it and slowed it down... but Ow.

Anyways, hinged and latched, fits snug and seals against the gaskets as it should... Tight! Probably better than new. I swapped the functional door from one side to the other so basically starting from scratch. I still have to do trim and that side wall with the electric, Piece of Redwood is a perfect fit, just cut some hinge pockets and I have hidden hinges.

Then trim out the outside and remove the old windows and crap... I gotta paint it before it really looks great but I did a walk around/look see this evening and that change is going to look dramatic... Even with the windows still there you can tell how different it's going to be. Fits the style of architecture so much more than the puke job that was there.

With the windows still in place it looks kinda' like a long phone-booth...
