why think in two dimensions at all. blender is free, powerful, 3d, animation, and can even author games? (and yes, you can still model, create and capture still images, print them out, even with 3d printing, or share them as still images in a gallery on the web)
I know how much they cost. (graphic designer by profession) But anyhow, Gimp isn't worth downloading for free. I've seen people do amazing things in Windows Paint....crazy good art even though it's a crap program.
im sorry the theme was supposed to look like the graphics rendering of legacy video game consoles .. i know the NES didn't exactly have "pretty" graphics but it was fun. i'm also sorry that you think you have to pay hundreds of dollars to get good software peace
ah ok, I see where you were getting in your design now that you mentioned it. I didn't mean to sound like I was giving a mean critique, I just thought Gimp didn't do your art any justice at the time.
Hello, it would be nice to name the things precisely where you think Gimp hinders AceK in his creativity. Regards Gyro
i didn't know about the legacy video game consoles part of it. i didn't see that mentioned. maybe it was and i somehow missed it? if it was somehow implied without specific mention, i wouldn't have caught it as i've never bought a dedicated game system, legacy or otherwise, as for me, the more satisfying 'game' is creating those environments and artifacts, which is considerably more facilitated with free software mentioned, on general/universal purpose computers, then on dedicated game machines. which, yes, i'm aware some do have some limited support for user creativity.
