I remembered that Zinn's book has a great bibliography, and you could spend months upon months reading source material. Long before he wrote that, I read "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown.

It's good to read a number of sources, and then do some thinking on your own. Nobody is going to hand the full, absolute truth to you on a silver platter. You have to do some work with your brain.

"History is written by the victors"-Winston Churchill It is impossible to find ONE history book alone that can provide a completely unbiased rendition simply because it provides only one point of view. If you look at two different history books from both parts of every event you may find some un-biased combinations of books.
