I'll be sure not to tune my dial to incestuous radio trap wrap crap. I don't understand your lyric here.

You probably mean black metal. I've never been into death metal. Can't blame someone who isn't into extreme metal at all for not knowing/hearing the difference though ;) :) But by saying that you actually give me reason to expand on one of those differences: death metal music is much more technique focussed, it contains more virtuose guitarists than the black metal subgenre by far. This also got to be (subconsciously) one of the reasons I instantly felt attracted to black metal in the 90's when it emerged whereas death metal was cool at the time but never really triggered my interest or taste much.
Black metal is much more atmosphere focussed. Now granted, you still have to dig at least slightly the atmospheres they try to invoke :p but the black metal I like are really masters in doing so. I've always felt more attracted to ongoing grooves and the vibe a piece of music invokes rather than experimental/progressive music executed by technique mastering virtuosos (yes, i'm polarizing it a bit, only for clarity).

Intone yourself dinky do. Objective art! If it is not objective you get this,
Survival of the fittest? Nature is tastefully arranged and I regard it unobserved.

Fair enough Asmo', sorry for the mis-categorization.... for the record, I like highly saturated, overdriven guitar sounds too. :cheers2:
personally, I don't find much musical value in either, death or black metal but that doesn't mean there isn't any. Metal is where hard rock guitar survives these days, and thats a good thing.

As for the dionysian ubermensch... In this post-modern era I doubt we'll see anything like that again for quite some time, and when we do it probably won't be in the arts as we know them traditionally....your guess is as good as mine, Mountain Valley Wolf.

You were concerned for the youth, who I wanted to show you are alive and well, even if they seem to be trappers. Fear not, little man! True junglists stay true, to welcome who's who! :-D

So, will you turn down, in, for the evening? Sun up, you can ask yourself the very same question! I'm a motherfucking optimist! lol

I'm a most accomodating sort. You're so close! The part is not necessarily the whole, but the whole is the part that it is at any moment. Definition. The part always defines the whole. No matter which one. :-D

The music 'videos' are what they are. But the jungle has tracks to my heart! Can you trace them? :-D

lol You dirty little christian! Go get reborn!

Thanks for your concern. I won't unthank it. Would you like my objectivity to stand for yours, is that it? lol

LOL Wild! Take the world in a love embrace! I'll crash your garden party so hard the daisies'll be pushing you up! :-D

I'll spend some thoughts about the actual topic later on (I love the original post) but first a quick thought I had:

Are you not familiar with the stoner rock genre? That's the closest continuation of both 70's hard and psych rock to me :2thumbsup:

Oh yes, I'm familiar... like your black metal, there's good atmosphere, but the music rarely goes anywhere, I need a little more substance, more 'story' (and I don't mean lyrics). Thanks for the thought :)

Yeah, one of the main focus points in the subgenre of stoner rock overall (they're still individual bands with individual purposes of course ;)) seems to be the groove. It often borders on (doom) metal as well, which also focusses on stretched out grooves and atmosphere and not on solo's or compact song structures or an intriguing melody. Sorry for my lack of proper technical terms, not my strongsuit (in english especially). Have to say a lot of black metal music has a lot of substance, even/especially in the music. It's not all punkish nihilistic in sound like bands as Darkthrone for example. Same with a lot of stoner rock bands: some do incorporate a lot of classic hard rock elements

If I may be so free :

Rather than answer in the vogue of others...I'll answer the last thought question of the op

Out playing a song quietly in nature as man has gone to extremes and tried to drown it out into silence. Swing pendulum swing, waves cascading higher as the tide comes in and another spiral is proferred for those that will.

The words of a true ubermensch.

But my problem is that in that cycle there are also those times when the forces of decay go too far---and the cycle moves all the way towards death and rebirth----culturally you have deaths like the Death of the Bourgeoisie culture of Europe---World War I and World War II were the death rattles and final gasps and struggles for life, such a collapse does not mean the end of civilization, but it is certainly painful for the people involved. But then you have collapses like the Roman Empire. But such a collapse involved people that were largely self-sufficient---such is not the case today----in fact in terms of self-sufficiency Western man has largely evolved to the level of a child, even compared to the 1930's. Just the dependence we have on medicine for so many people to live.In the face of dwindling resources, a cultural collapse could be catastrophic.

Such a demise could be inevitable, but I would still have to stand up and speak.

Having said all that-----I am actually pretty optimistic for man's future. I see trends in place that should evolve our zeitgeist in ways to help us face a new future. But will Western culture, what was once primarily identified as American culture (which is now the dominant cultural motif, both authentically (as American's view it) and unauthentically (as foreign cultures define it)) survive into this new future?

Wait... Are you saying English is not your first language? I am considered pretty fluent in Japanese, and I have fooled native speakers at times-----but I am sure my Japanese would have given me
away a long time ago into these conversations------I'm extremely impressed. And I must say----I have not detected any accent at all ;-)

    What is your native language?

    Thank you----I enjoyed those!!!

Little children I was speaking of and that is where education is most sensitive.
There is no accounting for taste.

I've got work to do while you optimize your time with mother.

Not close enough to smell my breath. We look to others for definition, i.e. how are you, and we never choose without a guide.

Nope, where your treasure lies there is your heart also. What you think is precious I don't understand. Are you reelin in the years, gatherin up the tears?

That you might regard me anew?

Not at all. What passes for art is mostly reproduction and one size does not fit all. When I say objective art I mean it is universally recognizable or gives a consistent impression. The pyramids of egypt or the acropolis of athens for example.

Flowers buoy me as it is. You go ahead and root around for satisfaction.

Dutch. I am less fluent when i speak english.

Great to hear man, glad you dig it :) Especially check Nebula out when they're near you, they're from the US but I saw them live twice in the netherlands and it was just as great as in that vid :2thumbsup: Greenleaf is great too but it is a sideproject of Dozer (and don't seem to tour) which often has a more typical stoner rock sound:

"I've done it my way yeaheah!!" Damn, love this shit! Next post I'll try to leave the music out of it
