wild asparagus should be picked early, basically as soon as they are big enough. once they start to grow tough you let them grow up like a fern bamboo, so it stores energy for next season. but basically tender and good eating from the time they poke up until they start to grow tougher stems. stalks? whatever.

it is really sunny and nice outside. i sat out by the pond for a bit, but it was hard to see my laptop screen so i was forced to come inside. first world problems, i know.
