In just about every single sports movie, the main characters' the team starts at the very bottom, consists of shitty unskilled losers. Then after some training and motivational talks and lots and lots of drama, they climb their way to the top and prove themselves eligible to compete in the playoffs or the championships. Next, the final team is seen as a very evil villain. The final game is supposed to be very suspenseful, the protagonists give it everything they got. Then after all the suspense is created, they somehow manage to win the game in the last 2 seconds of the game; conquering their enemies and defeating the villains. They win the championships and everyone is happy. That's what it seems like. The good guys always win in sports movies and the final game is the most suspenseful. This is why I don't like sports movies anymore. The only two sports movies I've seen that don't follow this cliche are Cool Runnings Million Dollar Baby
I see your point. But sometimes when I'm watching any other movie, you don't expect certain outcomes to happen. Any given non-sports movie could have an outcome where many important characters with lots of development unexpectedly won't make it to the end of the movie alive, yet the ending could still be a happy one. Sports movies are all about winning. And every team does it. The cliche is too common.
I hate those Disney ones when an eight year-old plays professional baseball and is the best pitcher in the league or whatever. "Throw your fastball, he can't catch you fastball" Makes me vomit in my mouth a little.
North Dallas Forty was the only one ive spent my entire viewing tim watching.. they use drugs in this movie //.{[p other than the The Rock in the Game Plan. That was funny and id watch it again..
