Is that your poutine, Baz? Looks scrumptious, but it would end up on my hips before you could say "C'est si bon!"
No, that heavenly potion isn't my concoction. I can barely manage omelettes or spaghetti, if you recall. This site has a slew of magnificent poutines. I'm thinking of changing Poutine Month from February to May, June, July..... I'll let you know when to stop me. http://ptitepoutine.com/tag/ptite-poutine/
It looks like real potatoes in there, none of this frozen fries stuff. You sure you didn't make it? That's quite the variety. What a cute little bowl they serve it in!
Those do look like freshly-peeled potatoes. That rules me out, believe me. I can't even use a peeler without cutting my fingers. I really need to invest in a good quality one, got any suggestions? And I love those special poutine bowls! I'll have to purloin one from the restaurant next time I dine out on poutine.
Any basic peeler will do, Baz. Nothing about peelers to get too excited about. Now that bowl... Do you often cart off the dishes and cutlery on your way out? They have therapy for that you know.
lol Therapy would be handy, I have a bit of a klepto streak. Though I don't make off with the place settings as a rule, Luce. Too bulky to carry off. Mostly just jams, cream and sugar packets. And whatever condiments are lying around. But that pretty poutine bowl is worth the risk.
nothing...splitting headache all day.....2 aspirin are not doing anything, either....not intersted in food today.....
I just made this wonderful concoction with a little bit of olive oil and garlic at the bottom of a casserole dish, then I layered mushrooms, tomatoes, and chicken breast with basil, salt, and pepper and baked for an hour. I stirred in some fresh mint pesto before I served. I think it may have been one of the greatest things I've ever made.
Sounds good Meliai! Tonight I made Italian meatball sandwiches with homemade bread, red peppers, and spinach to go on top. Then green beans, and my special home fries for sides.
I made some paleo ice cream yesterday. It came out awesome. Here is the recipe. 4 whole pastured eggs 4 yolks (in addition to the whole eggs above) 2 tsp vanilla 1 gram vitamin C (ascorbic acid) or 10 drops apple cider vinegar or lime juice to taste. 100 grams (7 tbs) grass-fed butter 100 grams (7tbs) coconut oil 50 grams (3tbs + 2tsp) MCT oil (important for consistency) 80 grams (5.5tbs) xylitol or erythritol (or more to taste – you can add up to 160 grams if you want) ~100 grams water or ice (just under 1/2 cup; add less than you think you need, then increase the amount). (optional) 1/4 to 1/2 cup of cocoa powder Methods Blend everything but the water/ice in blender. It takes a while to get the butter blended into perfect creaminess. Add water or ice and blend some more until well blended. Ideally, you want a yogurt-like consistency for creamy ice cream, or add more water for a firmer, icier texture Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and turn it on.
