Is this NORMAL?

Is it "normal" to maintain an erection for say, 10-15 minutes after ejaculating? I just wondered how common it is with others.

 

By 'ejaculation', I'm presuming you mean 'orgasm', as they aren't quite the same thing.

With controlled ejaculations you can remain erect for hours. However, if you're lucky, it is also quite normal to retain an erection after orgasm. As is usually the case, as soon as I've climaxed I immediately begin to lose my erection, but on occasion, if I'm particularly aroused, or if it wasn't a 'full' orgasm, then I can frequently manage to retain the erection & either reach another orgasm, or at least get a fair bit of additional pleasure out of it before I lose it.

Pineman, you are a fountain of information. It's after regular orgasm/ejaculation, and it's pretty much each and every time....always has been. Even as I get older and don't get aroused so easliy, once it's up it stays up. I used to keep going until I came again, but it would take a looong time and the second orgasm was never very good and the sex itself didn't feel very good either. It's really not good for much unless my woman isn't finished yet. Mostly it makes it uncomfortable to get dressed, roll over, pee etc....Just wondered how unusual it might be.

 

I think it's hard to say what's normal about something like this; what's normal for one guy won't be for another. But it doesn't sound like it's HARMFUL, if that was why you asked; as long as it isn't a case of priapism, where you're hard for 4 or more hours straight, then it's great. For me, sometimes it stays hard afterward, sometimes it wilts right away.

 

I did not know that. I always thought Ejaculation meant Orgasm. I will have to ask DH when he comes home.

 

How old are you? Was quite normal for me when I was younger, like 16-24ish.

 

No, not in my experience. Though he can wake up again within that time.

 

I stay hard a few minutes after ejaculation, but it does'nt seem like a bad thing to me.

 

It also greatly depends on how mentally aroused you are.
For the inexperienced who are often extremely excited, although it's not uncommon to ejaculate prematurely, it's also not uncommon to be able to continue, without losing the erection for several more climaxes.

As with most things sexual - stimulation is only about 10% physical - the rest is mental.

 

I don't think many men can do it. It sounds like an awesome quality! Unless you're too sensitive do use that erection after cumming. Then, it'd be useless.

I'll assume you can even use it to pleasure a woman/man. Awesome!

 

Some guys I was with were soft right away and some stay hard a while. Never known one who could still pleasure with it tho, usually too sensitive for a while even tho it's hard. After it wnent down they could start again.
