He wasn't even physically "tough". He was an absolute coward. Just with an unpleasant personality disorder. And got worse after his Mrs started screwing around (because he treated her like shit).
I believe it, I have known many like that. Hopefully is degradation did not take him down a long dark path.
How about I feed you to my cat, for £4. :2thumbsup: Or maybe a cat like my grandfathrs. He looked like this:- http://www.animalcorner.co.uk/wildlife/lions/graphics/lion.jpg
Last I heard he hadn't killed any cats, or done any Jimmy Savile shit. However, he is extremely miserable living with a really fat woman. And fallen out with most of his other (now ex) friends. Which gives me a nice warm feeling..:2thumbsup:
I would not kill any animal simply to obtain a bribe no matter how large, I would put down an animal that was suffering and do it for free
Yes, interesting questions are raised by these types of issues. Maybe underlying the seeming conflicts of interest involved in such questions lie much deeper issues. The example you give of curing blindness in Africa (and I too know what you mean but can't quote the figures or the disease which causes the blindness) is a good one. Because in my view it shouldn't be left to charities to provide the medication required. It's all a function of this fucked up system which dominates the world. Money should be there for people in Africa, and for people who need guide dogs. The world has enough resources to provide that, but instead, the richest 12 families in the UK own more wealth than the bottom 25%, so says a recent survey.
I agree totally. Killing a cat would be an evil thing, unless the cat was terminally ill and you were a vet. Everything is definitely interconnected, and as Douglas Adams said 'some things are more interconnected than others'. I've always felt connected to cats, and I've had many pet cats in the past. If I were to catch some moron being cruel to a cat, my instinct would be to kick the shit out of them. But maybe that's the way cat's get to control certain people and thus ensure their own ongoing survival in the unique niche they occupy. They are pattern breakers though, like every successful predator, and so it's hard for us to truly understand them.
Sure, for a million I'd kill a kitten. I just happen to have killed an animal today and I did it for free. It was a mosquito, so I guess that makes it alright for you guys.
Oh yes, if I had to kill a kitten to save a loved one I'd attempt it... But it would take a major adrenaline rush. I couldn't even kill a dying and siezing gecko, I made a friend do it for me because he was clearly suffering but I just couldn't.. My ex actually used that as an argument at one point. I told him I'd be more likely to kill the guy forcing me to make that decision and obtain the money that way. X) He lacks empathy in general, for humans too. But growing up the way he did probably desensitized him to it. They kill animals for gain all the time. I'm so glad so many people on here feel that way. =) We live together again now, and we're friends in the most blunt way because of what we've been through. Essentially I'm allowed to tell him when he's being an asshole. I think he allows it so he can learn how to not scare off the next woman haha. Actually, people are a little different. I mentioned above that I would kill the guy making me choose between killing one cat and allowing several more to die in an underfunded system. People generally never deserve to die, but people aren't also inheritantly innocent. If it were a choice between an innocent anything and a corrupt human douchebag, I'd probably let the innocent live, regardless of species.
I would never murder an anything, unless it had personally hurt me first or it was a life/death situation. It would still take quite a bit of motivation, so throw half a million dollars at me and I might kill a deserving criminal.
