Hey, not being mean or anything but if you are going to ask any questions, read the stickies, or start your own thread. Most likely questions like these will get sucked in and lost among other things. Now, to answer your question, your hair should be at least 6 inches I think was the shortest length you could do to dread your hair but mind you they will SHRINK. So a good shoulder length hair will be better suited for dreading.
Yeah, but I kind of got sick and tired of shaving my head every month...plus I felt like I needed to start anew. A lot of things in my life have changed and I just felt like combing out my hair and start a new set the moment the rest of my hair gets long enough. I rocked the mohawk for over 4 years now and a dreadhawk for a year. I also might start my new set from the natural method and see how that turns out. My first set was pulling on my scalp too much. Don't worry I will start my second set shortly and I will definitely try and take more pictures....I have been slacking because I am not a big fan of picture taking, but I shall update this once I start my second set.
So I started a new set.... I got tired of waiting for my hair to grow out long enough so I thought I tried extensions myself. I ended up buying a weft of blue hair(as my hair is blue/green right now) and dreaded them and then gently crocheted the extensions to my shorter dreads. I would have finished but I ran out of extensions haha. I kind of like this set better than my last to be honest. I actually sectioned them as best as I could and obvious I don't mind some fattier dreads so the sections are different. It is actually not pulling on my scalp so I am definitely stoked on that. I can also do some updos that I normally could not have done.
I know...terrible quality but hey at least it's an update haha. Anyways. The really bright blue hair are the extensions and the green is my faded color of my hair. I am just stoked I finally have a full head of hair after shaving my sides for like 5 years haha.
