I'm not believing it. I'm just re-telling what they said they based their announcement on.

Up To 5 km's Deep, And It Looks Like Their Plan Was To Just Dissappear Off The Face Of

BUT THE BIG QUESTION IS WHY.?????

They got a text message in English? Or is it just translated for us?

Wow, that would've been even more hideous.

I assume that was a translation.

It's hard for me to disagree. It's a sort of exploitation. The incident is important to everyone but there's obviously a violation of those people's privacy. As if the tragedy isn't already bad enough, they have to be subjected to public expose in their most vulnerable moment. :(

I imagine it's not their grief they mind sharing but more the manner in which the media circus is handled.

At work I find myself drawn to the tables to "clean" that's close to one of the tvs (there are 2) that have talk about this the most.

    It's damn unreal.

They somehow know when the plane veered off the flight plan/path, correct? WHY can't they do anything (satellite imaging?) that goes beyond the fairly brief sighting and knowledge of the plane veering off course?

I know the area is hard to get to, what I meant was why go through all that trouble to make it difficult to recover the plane if the plan was just to suicide hijack.

    hijacking is speculation.

Assuming plane lost all navigational instrument and the pilots were flying visually. Visual flying is ok, however in open seas without any barrings is not. Flights lost in the Bermuda triangle were given cause - loss of instruments. Spatial disorientation. One thing to believe you're going to be over land. The next thing you are not.
Given the distance the flight took over the Indian ocean with a headed opposite to their northern direction. I would "assume" pilots believed they were flying in the proper direction. Must of been some panic when it was discovered they would soon run out of fuel and there was no land to be seen. See how it skips over the small areas of land. How did they miss that. Why was communication severed so close to mainland. Its very odd. They either assumed they had control or they were arguing among themselves :who was going to be responsible for this error . Instead they may of come to some agreement to correct the planes heading and it was a failure..

No, the supposedly magical new technology never before used is just accounting for doppler shift.and correlating the data from two satellites.

The malaysians ARE full of it, seemingly its pride preventing them from being co-operative and admitting they dont know what the fuck they are doing.

China and the relatives have a right to be pissed off.

Id also be mega pissed off if i was one of the relatives of the pilots who seem to be accused of espionage so easily to shift focus away from a huge malaysian govrnment political cockup

The chinese gov want this stuff because they know its yet another load of bullshit

I like the way they put stress on the would-be vital information.
