    Hello Everyone,

My name is Makwa. I am starting a communal living camp in the UP, Northern Michigan. I am buying a 40 acre lot that is backed up to state land and is very remote. I have sold all of my possesions to pay for this property and will be heading up there in July. I am looking to form my initial group. I hope to expand this into a primitive living training camp. We have many access to rivers and lakes as well as various trails. I am looking for 15 people to be apart of the formation. Please only respond if you are serious and able to relocate. I need the right people for this to work. I have done communal living on a primitive site before and know that issues can arise. I am looking for an investment from founding members and you will have ownership rights to the property. We are the generation that seperates from society. The initial investment will only go towards supplies to ensure that we have everything that we need to make it through the rough winters. I can answer any questions that you do have.

yes , we got aquainted here a while back with a n.michigan primitive living school .
one problem of logic i noted was that the people involved had quit
living primitively - especially the leader . the need for an electric coffee-maker
he blamed on his wife .

This time I bought land that has nothing around it. It's put up or shut up now! lol.

The shift is happening, it's time to head for the woods!

I've been curious. How do you keep healthcare there? What if someone passes out or gets heavily injured in middle of the forest?

a difficult medical situation would be quite the same
or worse for people on wilderness treks . in a well-established
primitive village though , one could have a basic medical
library , and too , some primitive homey magic .

the magic of home is good
for making peace with bears .

    bears get dangerously upset
when they detect the odor of human sex .
    menstruating women
especially should have this magic .

You do know there's black bears and mountain lions in the UP don't you? Better make a bear proof food storage area. They will tear apart the most well built structure even if it takes them all night.

I was unable to get the property I was originally looking at. I just wanted to update everyone. A lot of great things have happened in my life. I am still looking to start a commune. I have been doing research on the best housing. I am looking at Alex Godon's research because of a strong pull to a more metaphysical/spiritual direction more than anything. I think a commune is the best way to break away from the current society. I have a lot of ideas and will respond to more when I have time.

Btw...I know there are bears up there...look up my name:oops:

Yes medical cannabis, organic food production, ayhuasca ceremonies, large community service focus. Eventually grass fed live stock. As well as retreat/cleansing programs.

Maybe you would enjoy reading 'Land Community Gatherings' in waysharing forum (oldwolf). I covered much of what you express an interest in doing and brain-stormed with others interested.
After trying a long time, I passed on the land and am moving on to individual Work and putting the nomad back with the hermit again.

    Enjoy your life

greenhouse wise I planned in a rather large one underground one in a S. facing hill, with the back lowest part of the V dug into the hill being for refrigeration and storage of food. I also like cordwood construction as one of the most Gaia friendly methods.
Community ideas I was following were moslty in Waysharing forum (personal forum here in hipforums) - threads regarding community are locked now that i've moved on; but anyone can read and use any ideas useful. It covers near 20 years of public online attempt at community that did not manifest.

    Enjoy your Journey.
