I just came out yesterday...I live in a mormon community...and my parents cried alot!!!! but they told me they'd help me. i think i took the most mature role in the situation. all they did is ball and ask a few questions, while i talked the whole time, explaining everything and assuring them what kind of gay i was going to be.

Eh, my parents are pretty cool with it and all my friends are very supportive about it. =) My whole school shuns me though, ah well. I try not to let it get to me.

Very similar to my situation. I came out to myself in my early twenties, and didn't really announce anything, just showed up with my "roommate" who accompanied me to three different cities and travelled with me around the world. Pretty close roommates some figured out.

My best friend in high school kinda disappeared when I told him (also that I always found him attractive may have scared him - we slept in the same bed on overnight visits while in high school).

My mother brought it up in a tirade once, but only after Jim and I split up and I sent her a pic of my black girlfriend. Seems racism trumps homophobia in America.

I knew pretty young that I was gay.
at school where we had to shower after sports, I was always the first one was naked.
also always had an erection and precum came out of my penis.
and the guys asked me if I was gay? YES.
but have no difficulty or anything found under.
at home, I was accepted by my parents and sisters and brothers.
    I am very open.

Very negative reaction from my parents - which I did expect, but it was FAR worse than I expected. They threw me out of the house and I was no longer welcome. We fought a great deal over the phone and now about 30 years later I speak to my mother twice a year.

Most of my friends reacted better than that though, but I none of my actual relations spoke to me for years. Only this year have I even started connecting to just a few. I am afraid to even try the wider family.

I don't think I really "came out". I think everyone just knew. I was very loud..

I'm from Alabama and live in West Virginia, so some family members had/have a problem with it, but my dad and my late mom were supportive of it. I had known basically my whole life I like girls.

When I broke the closet door down, I only lost 1 person in my life which was a past gf I was actually aquaintance with at that point. My family was very supportive and so were all my friends were too. But then again I only hang with the coolest of peeps. Most of them laughed at first and said "You no way" as I am very masculine and str8 acting. All in all it was a big life change for me, but too all my friends it was another " Well leave it to Dave" type thing. A positive expierence for all.
