Porkstock, did you quit your job, move to another state, and start working as a grocery cashier? I went to pick up some things last night, and the grocery dude looked just like you. It was uncanny.
It's Saturday night. Let's all go out to a huge dancing bar with sawdust on the floor in one room...a pool table....a big dance floor...a live band. What do you all say?
Count me in I got all the moves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iN4tPC6p80"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iN4tPC6p80
Bwaa haw! thats the first thing I thought of when I read Piafs post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWRZut6klgE"]Bugs Bunny Barber - YouTube :iagree: I'm going to 'Sporty Gras' tonight. I'm not fond terribly fond of the bar crowd but for good or bad it happens to be the social center of this tiny part of the world. There's always a chance that I'll meet someone new and interesting...or someone new and interesting will meet me!
I'm not into clubs anymore. I used to go to them every weekend. When I go out its usually to dinner at a restaurant or friends house. A few of our friends are couples and we take turns doing dinner night. Thats fun. There are a few tea houses in the city, so tea tasting is fun. One place has a huge wall of teas that you can mix etc. Theres usually at least one quirky event worth visiting at any given time. I'm not a big drinker these days, but I do enjoy an afternoon of bar crawling. I like laid back pubs the most and drinking with the guys.
I don't either, and there is no place here like I described, but have been to them....I thought a night out with all of us here would be fun, though....virtually, anyway....
The older I get, the less I feel like going out and the more time I spend at home with my wife. I play roller hockey two nights a week. Other nights are split between cooking, reading, TV, the gym, running, photography.
Funny you should say that On another forum I go on (bit more local than this one ) I suggested that if anyone wanted to meet up for a drink then I would arrange It ! yesterday (sat ) we had our second get together and it was great .some lovely people and its strange how your online persona can be quite unlike your real life person ? unlike me as I am a total One Off !! and apparently a friggin nutter  my point is if you never get out you are missing meeting some amazing people
That YouTube teaser ends just when it's starting to get really good. I had to track down the full length version: http://vimeo.com/2909820 Anything on that quality level never gets old.
I went out last night for the first time in ages to see a friend's band play. Live music is really the only reason I go out. I mainly only leave the house to explore nature or to drive to some random town and explore it. I also like meandering around my city because its lovely but I only do that during the day. At night its full of drunk 21 year olds and yuppies out for an overpriced meal. I do occasionally like to go out to eat but only to my favorite Indian and Korean restaurant because I can't replicate that experience at home
I like going out to eat, I enjoy plays, ballet and opera. There is always something good in this city. I like cafes, I like nature. Also....what is the English word for those cafe-like places, but where they only serve cakes and desserts? I don't like concerts, I don't care much about clubbing and bars and live music. There are some really nice longe bars here though, I like that. Also bowling. Hate it.
Yeah, I hate every game in a sucky environment or if I suck at it myself. Hence bowling sucks a lot. Concerts can be very different I think. You have those where you sit like at a play or opera, you have concerts in small venues or those really really massive ones. I can enjoy the latter but I generally don't go to them for the music but for the party. Small (or middle sized) venue concerts are the best. And sunny day open air concerts of course, but not in the first place because the sound is better  Is there anybody on here doesn't like nature btw? Just wondering
i wasn't clear. this theater shows movies that are old enough to be out of normal theaters, but not released on DVD quite yet (or they were just recently released on DVD). we saw Captain Phillips i really need to find someone to go to this Iration concert with me tonight...i'd rather not go alone.
Yeah, weird but also understandable how that can make some of us feel like not going but other feel no restriction in going alone to a concert at all  With who did you go to the opera, Piaf!? If I may ask :mickey:
