you know what ive realized? if i start thinking about something with enough determination for a good solution, somehow after a good while, the mental path just leads me back to where i was when i began. and then i kill chickens.
how is cutting chickens head fun? what is so fun about it, i think its wrong excluding the fact that they can run around without their heads
well yeah, killing things sucks, i was just referring to the running around and flying with no head, you can't say that there's no fun in that
what exactly is this "truth" you speak of and why does it set your thoughts into loops? from my experiences, when i'm overwhelmed or overstressed i start getting thought loops. When a person has something on their mind - something that can't be changed or that they are afraid of, the brain tries to "figure it out" like a math problem, but usually its no use. So, instead of finding a logical conclusion it goes right back to thinking about the first problem which starts the whole stress process into action again. This is why many psychologists see thought loops as a great cause of stress disorders, and is one of the areas they work on in therapy. I, for instance, have a childhood fear of needles and blood in a doctors office. When i go in for a blood test, even afterwards I cannot help but try to figure out "why" i was so scared of it (which i don't know) and then the image returns and i get that familiar tension in the stomach and a little shudder. and when i had a doctor's appointment set up as a kid, i would be nervous for days in advance - for even though i couldn't change anything i couldn't stop worrying. It is this worrying, this attempt to discover the truth that uses up our energy and gets in the way of actually making progress through positive action. Thinking about your life and finding problem areas that need to be fixed is important and something any intelligent person should do, but when the thought attention is fixated on a particular problem that cannot and will not be solved at that moment it only gets in the way of real change.
