Another set of occurrences were in my dad's childhood home, which we lived in for a year.

I was snacking at our kitchen table with 2 friends one day, when suddenly the door to our screened in porch opened wide (not inward but outward agains the spring direction, which would have been difficult even for wind to do), then slammed shut. We heard footsteps walk toward, then past us to another room in the house and then exit through a different door. We all just looked at each other like, did that just happen? yes that just happened.

This house was in South Texas, which gets really hot and humid for several months of the year. So humid that wooden cabinets swell shut etc making them impossible to open. Anyway, there was a storage closet on top of my closet in my bedroom (to accommodate for 14 ft high ceilings) that was swollen shut, but would open during the night and then close sometime before I awoke. This always creeped me out beyond belief and scared the shit out of me. I always felt someone was watching me and it wasn't a good vibe. After we moved, I found one of our tenants (19 year old guy) had blown his brains out in the room next to mine 5 years prior. This explained the warped wood floor (blood soak), lowered ceilings (the clean up company could not remove all brain and skull fragments from the original ceiling and walls so they 'took the room in'), and broken swing door between the kitchen and that room (the gurney broke it to access the body). Oh yeah, the body sat there for 2 weeks until the guys father noticed he had passed. Talk about a creepy ghost.

Here are my orb pictures. I took 40 pictures that day and the ones by my moms grave were the only ones that had orange orbs. I looked closely at my pictures to see if other pictures I took in the same direction had the orbs thinking it may have been a sun reflection. None of the other pictures I took in that same direction had anything like this.

Cool pictures, ruby. That's quite the elaborate grave. Pretty view as well.

My dad built it. Its on his farm where he lives. She was cremated. That's how we were able to have her remains on private property. You can't really see it in this picture because its taken from the back side but the gate has an M for our last name with a sun setting on it. My dad built the entire fence in his blacksmith shop.

Haha, was about to say that I'd posted in it!

Glad you believe me. My stories are true, but I'm not sure what to believe most of the time! I liked reading yours, too. Growing up in Charlottesville, there must be a lot of old buildings and bizarre happenings!

About 5-6 years ago I broke up with my partner and moved temporarily into a friend's house she was renting. It was an old cottage that was owned by an elderly man who lived in the house next door.

On the day I moved in another friend helped me, and after moving we sat down to have a cup of tea in the kitchen. The kitchen window offers a good view of the backyard next door, and we could both see the old man wandering around the garden, checking the rose bushes and the trees as we talked.

When my friend who lived in the house came home that night I mentioned that we had seen the old man in the next door garden that day. She got a strange look on her face and said that couldn't be right, because the old man had died two weeks ago and the house had been empty since.

To this day I can't explain it.

Piaf, do you hate this stuff as a product of the Catholicism? Or does it just scare you?

My mom used to work with a priest to do exorcisms. So, it does exist within the church, at least around here.

HIL's story reminded me that I used to live in a home where the basement had doubled as a morgue. Someone had also commit suicide in the house. I don't think it was particularly haunted, but the when I had to do laundry in the basement, I always ran up the staircase damn fast, ha.

It seems most christians are actually skeptical about exorcist priests. Even a lot of catholics! I can't blame them myself, although I saw some supposedly posssessed people in good documentaries that were really not acting/faking something. Not sure what was really wrong with them though...

Orbs...I don't know whether to put any stock into them or not...Some say, it can be moisture in the air reflecting light for photographs(that would make sense)....I don't know.

He wasn't an exorcist priest, per se. Just a regular parish priest.

It is pretty wild, and I'm not sure how I feel about it, anyhow.

Well, I ment just priests that do exorcisms in general. I agree, it looks freaking intense but I still do not think they are truly possessed.

My parents are non denominational Christian pastors. Growing up I saw them lay hands on people to cast out demons dozens of times. They would even bless houses with anointing oil to rid it of spirits as well.

My home is always sealed and cleansed. There needs to be boundaries and that is one of them. There also needs to be a place that is apart from constant bombardment for sanity alone. :)

It is not really wise to leave openings without safe guards as what can come through is not always as it seems.

Haha I bet you did. I know one time, my mom found me sitting under a desk petting one of our cats. She went bitch mode on me and griped about me being on the floor. Turns out, that was the place he had laid. Can't really blame her in hindsight.

What do ya know? My grandparents were sunday school teachers :)

Some places are battle grounds of light and dark. Simply anointing a doorway is not necessarily going to keep stuff out. Speaking things into the air / summoning is something to be mindful of. Just the same as positive affirmations can manifest good things. My point is, a continual practice of good air and spirituality is needed.

Demon possession is very real and you must tread lightly or find yourself among the countless damned who during a moment of weakness either invoked the name of Satan, cast spells found among various books of the dead, or played the Ouija board.
