There's some snow on the ground in places left over from last week, but the skies have been clear all day. We've seen a lot more snow this year than we usually do, which is awesome.....I love snowstorms. I'm going skiing in WV next week..... will there be some good snow for me?
Hard to tell because we already had a good dose of snow on the ground already, but i'd guess several inches before it turned over to ice. We're expecting another snowstorm on saturday which could rival this one :2thumbsup: Hotwater
12 inches so far since around 3am this morning, and now the ice is coming down in the form of an ice storm, and you can hear it loudly hitting the house here... and branches of trees are hanging down under the weight...I hope no power lines snap....
what, in my life? i have no idea. lately, we've been getting snow every day, but only a couple inches a day. i think it's been a little over a week since we got anything significant at one time. plus, the temperature has been above zero for a couple days. it's weird that you're posting the winter thread when it's finally spring.
lol Last week we got a few weird little snow storms. We rarely get more than a few inches at a time, but it destroys our roads until it gets warm enough to melt them off because our DOT has an absolutely terrible snow management plan. We've got a nice and big 4 lane highway between where I live and where I work and we were lucky if they plowed one lane each way. Haha, if I had a safe opportunity to take a picture of the roads to show everyone just how godawful they are when it snows, I would have. We have a lot of plants in the area (oh yeah, people die of cancer at a ridiculously high rate out here) and they release a lot of steam, so when we got that little cold snap last week, it caused weird periodic heavy snowstorms just in the area the plants are located. It was pretty weird to drive from one end of town with blinding snow and super slippery roads to the other end of town where I work and the little amount of snow we were getting wasn't even enough to stick to the ground. Now it's 54 degrees at 12:31 AM and not a speck of snow to be found. Weather out here is always really fucking spontaneous and weird. lol
well we did get a couple of storms the previous couple of months. looked like five or six inches on the ground briefly, though i didn't actually measure it. i live in northern nevada, where we don't normally get much of it anyway. what we don't get in the way of percipitation we sure make up for in cold though. not too many miles to the west of here, in truckee and on donner summet, snow was something we measured in feet rather then inches. http://www.furaffinity.net/full/5266939/
We had none whatsoever this year. And I bought a new Winter coat too. : ( I'm writing a letter of complaint to God. AND the chemtrail producers.
About a foot!! ..classes were cancelled yesterday and today, so I been making most of that.,.partyyy! lol :sunny:
A few heavy snow flakes this morning then supposed to rain,,, well the sun is shining! I love it when they are wrong.
Between the first and second parts of Pax we ended up with 27 inches. 18 inches first batch...9 inches second batch. Our car was stuck in parking lot (that landlord for some odd reason decided so far not to send a plow to plow out lot) for a good 40 mins today and took my husband and two neighbors all shoveling to get us out... luckily we were able to get to store (really needed certain things) + D needs to be going to work later this afternoon. I have a car totalllly covered w snow (a car I don't use) and have some pics of it all... may be able to post them later on.
I haven't seen snow like that since I left Ontario. Here maybe three inches on a rare occasion, but usually under an inch. Just enough to make the roads messy and make us bad drivers for a day.
The weatherman on CNN just now said that if you live in Boston, you should get on a train and get out of there. They just posted a blizzard warning for Saturday afternoon. Of course, I'm going to stay. But I am so sick of all this snow and cold.
