HEy all, many like myself are looking to improve our health and mental clarity, here is what is in my stack these days: Noopept, 10mg (3 days on 1 off 4 0n 1 off) 5htp 30mg (every other day) Omega 3 fish oil 1000mg (18% EPA, 12% DHA) every other day Qi'a superfood 30g (chia, buckweat hemp) every other day. ALPHA-GPC 300mg. like to talk to anyone with racetam/nootropic experience and discuss various dosages and beneficial combinations. jerm :sunny:
what benefits have you noted? Ive tried several nootropics and have noted that since I eat healthy enough I didnt notice much effect...
that is true from my own experience, for example, when taking 5HTP it is best to eat foods high in tryptophan this lets the body produce natural serotonin and melatonin. their effects can be enhanced by the right foods.
The term nootropic seems to be loosely applied and means different things depending on who you talk to. I generally associate nootropics with drugs like Pricetam and Modifinil, though I understand some people consider anything that is a cognitive enhancer to be a nootropic. I have used 5-HTP in the past as a sleep aid, antidepressant and overall mood enhancer with mixed results, and I regularly use melatonin. Omega 3s are a big part of my diet, but I find the best source of these fatty acids to be krill oil, which are bound by phospholipids and have a higher bioavailability than regular fish oil, and also contain the powerful antioxidant, antaxanthan. Vitamin D is also considered by some to be a nootopic because of its improvement of mood and cognitive function. I think it's important that everyone receive an adequate amount of D, if not from the sun than from supplementation of at least 1,000IU per 25lbs. of body weight. It is believed that one of the leading causes of seasonal depression, also known as Season Affective Disorder (SAD), is caused largely by a lack of vitamn D. Another thing that has perhaps the most profound affect on mental clarity and cognitive function, tough not often associated with nootropics, is iodine. I was suffering from brain fog for years, until I began supplementing with iodine on a daily basis. Iodine supplementation is one of the most important things to improve one's mental clarity. I take upwards of 30mg a day in the form of Lugol's 2% solution. Iodine and krill oil taken together can have a profound and positive impact on one's cognitive function.
yep, my vendor is now calling his products "cognitive nutrients" instead of nootropics. tho most of them are in the racetam fam. thanks for the info on the krill oil, tho i don't think that is kosher. I'll stick with the fish and chia omegas for now. :afro:
all you need is chia seeds. perfect balance of omega 3s and 6s.. that then goji berries and cacao nibs have become a pretty regular part of my diet...
I can second that, the chia seeds are definitely beneficial, love the cocoa nibs too, little bitter at first but like a good lager an acquired taste. :2thumbsup:
I noticed a lot of vendors out of Noopept lately. I do have one I know personally that has it in stock. look up smarticine, been a vendor of mine for a year or two top notch service and communication.
I took Modafinal for about a year during business hours. 200mg every morning. It worked at first but I wouldn't recommend it. It definitely affected my health. I was noticeably more knackered towards the end of each week. Saying that, full health within a couple of days and I've not taken it since and I'm not planning on doing. It is strong stuff. The only benefit I would say, is for occasional use. And maybe if you have a daytime eating disorder. You can fast until evening on this stuff.
Modafinal hits you in the face. It takes about 20 minutes to kick in. It is a bit like speed but without the sleeping difficulties and inability to eat. But, like I said, I wouldn't recommend it as it's habit forming. Only about as much as coffee is and it is easy to stop taking but it can become part of your daily routine. It goes like this; Modafinal on first alarm call, super awake 20 mins later. Super confident and chatty on the school run. Then the confidence tends to give way to nervousness around mid-afternoon. It tends to make you super concentrate on one task and this task could be quite trivial but you'll find that you won't give in until it's solved. Everyone seems to say this about it. I've also tried Piracetam and I can't say that anything happened.
interesting, science seems to be only entering the area of mental improvement and causation some of what you describe I have experienced just with proper diet or a different diet should i say than average, exotic fruits, nuts, grains, flowers etc. Some of these tropics seem rather dangerous, with the addiction and side effect factors, if only we knew how to gain the same benefits from naturally occurring material.
John at Om Chi herbs has something called cognitol. I've tried a few times to decipher what it really is. Celastirius seed oil? However it was useful, and at higher dosages, kind of fun/supportive of psychedelics.
I've gone back on the Modifinal. A smaller dose of 2X50mg, taken at 8-ish and 11-ish. I've been taking it for about 6 weeks. This time round, I've only noticed positive effects. No nervousness. One other benefit that you do get with this drug, is some appetite suppression. So if you want to lose weight, this will help but that's another conversation.
Glad to hear it John I thought your dose was nearly twice the average, I know it's been a while, but how did the trial go?
i've tried modafinil before but only in small doses. i'm looking for something that will help me get things done, and to be able to study something longer without fatigue and also to retain information better. i don't really like amphetamines for this purpose, they cause too much euphoria. maybe in small doses they are okay, but i enjoy the effects too much i guess. plus they have a tendency to cause severe insomnia
what is in your stack thus far? it's really hard to recommend anything by itself without knowing your diet, many of them work best in conjuction with other mind/body nutrients IMHO. J :bandana:
currently i only take: A multivitamin omega-3 sublingual b-12 b complex either pill or sublingual caffeine i dont really take any "nootropics" currently, these are just general vitamins/minerals/nutrients obviously except for the caffeine
from my experience 5htp would be a good addition to that, and one of the tams, Oxiracetam , Piracetam etc tho I'm not sure that second one is legal in the Us anymore, at least no longer classified as a dietart by the FDA.
Currently I don't have any but I have explored Piracetam and I enjoy it quite a bit. You may enjoy piracetam, it's not really something I'd recommend to satisfy those tasks you are looking for but I know that you have an affinity for disassociatives and I'd say piracetam is to disassociatives as caffiene is to stimulants. Piracetam is mild but pleasant and just kind of washes over me with this very subtle focus. I have also found it to synergize with Mxe and take me to some very profound places I don't reach with Mxe on it's own. There is also some hype surrounding donepezil but I have not tried that.
Interesting that u make the comparison to dissociatives. I have actually found small doses of MXE to be beneficial for studying, allows the mind to process thoughts one at a time or something without interference as long as I don't take too much it helps in some circumstances, and it is excellent for long repetitive tasks too, and for this a somewhat higher dose can be used
