p.s I'd never really knew roller derby was a thing (outside of tv/movies) until I "met" you. Anyway, it turns out my area has a team and looking at their pictures I think there is an actual transgendered man on the team. That seems like cheating.

A lot of people probably don't think so, but it's serious business to us . You should go support your local team!

Derby accepts anyone who identifies as female. If it's a sanctioned bout, trans players are allowed if they are on estrogen regimens. I wouldn't say it's cheating though. Most derby girls can knock a man on their ass just as easy. There are actually a lot of coed teams as well.

Don't worry you will get some rink time. I was told the same thing when I made the cut for a mx team when I was young. I was also told it would be a year or two before id line up. 8 months later I was suiting up and getting a big 'wake up' call lol on last minute moves and how to run etc.

Even if you have to wait, being on the team is still kickass and you will get to practice and all the above but 'game minutes'. Im glad it all paid off for ya in the end.
