Yes, current western society is still what it is for a large part because of religion.

humanity is totally wierd among the species of earth because of this degree of inequality between genders. although yes, it is the dominant western culture and its religious excuses. and by western i don't mean just western hemisphere, but everything west of say the border between india and packistan, and you know continuing around the globe in a westerly direction until you get to the pacific ocean from there. pretty much leaving only like from japan through india. though just about almost every indiginous culture everywhere are exceptions to it.

i think it started with rome or even greece, along about the same time as romantacizing and rewarding aggressivness started to become acceptable and popular. didn't actually get under way in the western hemisphere until the european invasion.

i know exceptions can be found to ever single word of that, but the point is, they are exceptions and not the general way of it.

In western society it's even become ridiculous. In other parts of the world some women have it rough.

Yet it's page 7 and it's still you three male losers arguing this.

Hmmm ??? maybe I'm on to something, whether you like my outspoken character or not.

Everyone always hates the one who says what no one has the balls to question.

    I hope not

I like going to Thailand or the Philippines and getting a cheap young prostitute.... If they start getting rights the price will go up

Usually there's not much point in arguing other than for the sake of arguing itself. It's unlikely that anyone is going to be persuaded.

The OP seemed to be confused about why there are more men than women in elite level jobs.

The feminist reasoning is that it must be the case that men and women must be equal in abilities (though that is unsuported by and contrary to the evidence).

With the assumption that men and women are equal in abilities, the only plausible explanation for the disparity is discrimination.

This notion is repeated again and again, until it is simply accepted as fact by the public.

The notion that disparities are the product of discrimination then serves as the justification to wage war on men.

I went back and saw your post on page 1.

And my original point still stands. You didn't say anything. Just a quick quip and out.

I don't think that anyone has said anything to the contrary.

However, the notion that women are not getting equal pay for equal work (in the US, at least), is based on a distortion of statistics.

For example, stats claiming income inequality for equal work have counted college professors and elementary school teachers as doing equal work, since they're both teachers. It's an absurd comparison, since college professors have to work a lot harder to get and keep their jobs than elementary school teachers. Since there are relatively higher numbers of male college professors than elementary school teachers, the conclusion is that women are paid less for equal work.

Frontline soldiers vs someone in an office 200 miles away?

In England, nowadays you have some families with husband and wife on a good income, because they're from middle class backgrounds and their families/private high schools sorted them out well paid easy jobs. Then you have people discriminated against because they are from working class backgrounds, more qualified but unemployed/in shit jobs. Something a bit fucked up when some families end up rich, others poor because of this supposed type of "liberation".

In the world, no. There are many places where there are not equal rights let alone human rights that are respected and legislated.

In many places in the world, yes.

Yes, we're clearly all withholding sex from our multi-millionaire husbands...because you know what millionaires are into right? No? Neither do I. I think you might have the wrong audience here.

In parts of the world women don't have equal rights but thankfully here in the west they do, like this alpine skier from the UK Chemmy Alcott who also loves boxing and bubble-baths :2thumbsup:
