Every time I see this thread I get American pie by don McLean stuck in my head. ...The day the music died...
Well pretty cool career choice. Definitely full of experiences I'm sure. Thanks deviates mom for writing history books! Ya my gf tried to show me a video that her friend (back home in Colombia) sent her. It was of a guy getting his head cut off. Another friend watched the whole thing. I couldn't stomach that though. I did hear a few hacking noises and the man screaming that really bothered me. ANYWAY! Melial was actually right when she said the "freedom" doesn't exist there due to control by criminals. So I would opt for our society of civil laws and obedience.
You also have the freedom to not do those things. You don't need to drive, you don't need to watch TV, you don't need to get a job, go to college, get a girlfriend. So why do you do all those things? Why do you conform, yet spend your free time writing about how much you dislike conformists? edit: That came off as sounding like I was attacking you, but I'm honestly just curious. A lot of us can by hypocritical like this.
Your country is basically run by people considered notorious criminals in the rest of the world, the only difference is that they hide the connection between their actions and the results a little bit better.
Oh man, that sounds like my dream job. edit: dammit, now I'm the asshole who posts 3 times in a row in the same thread.
its such a powerful image. to me the woman in black represents the norms.. the faceless masses of "do nothing" people. Beings who exist without living. They will fuck you up if you try to live. They will pull you back if you try to stand out. They will push you down to the ground and kick you till the ambulance takes you. And then they walk away whistling. the women in red is youth, rebellion, freedom and death. She knew its against the norms to wear red and to let people see her hair yet she did it. She knew what was gonna happen. I see pride in her eyes. and pity.
Gendorf... Well, the picture was taken by an awarding photojournalist... Awards he won Iran. What does that say about Iran? http://www.worldpressphoto.org/people/ebrahim-noroozi I presume he was attempting the sentiment you conveyed... He seems to use colour contrast in a lot of his work. The blurb I have read regarding the picture is she was pulled up for wearing figure hugging clothing (I do not think red is banned just yet) Regardless of if the woman was actually arrested at all or arrested for wearing a red dress...I would say your characterisation of the country rings true, to a certain degree. Or, it might be naively simplistic. BTW... These women be crazy... I do not think it matters what colour the garment is. Reading more recent information states these women have had their authority removed...what does that say about Iran?
What needed fixed? There is always going to be some asshole trying to tell you what to do, And a bigger asshole like me to fuck with them 100%. Who are they to tell me what ok and not ok? They, Can take a flying fuck whomever they are.
