Weed and alcohol leagalizations

Alrighty roo...i'm doing a research paper for my english class and i need some opinions from people so..
the topic is Should weed be legal over alcohol? because think of all the stuff that alcohol does and what weed does...should they both be banned? legal? tell me what you think. And also if you think they should both be legal, what should the regulations be like age, sales, things like that. Thanks

One fact can say it. More people have died over alcohol, none due to marijuana... not only that, but the US is the only country ignorant enough to have both created prohibition and made weed illegal at pretty much the same time... main reason being racism. Everyone blamed the mormons for bringing back marijuana after missionary trips and saying that Mexicans were ruining the white culture... then they had the whole reefer madness thing with all the jazz musicians and because most of them were black, they also said that was due to marijuana... again racism. The head of all of this was yellow journalist/media/newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hurst.... he found that using wood for newsprinting paper was more beneficial to him than hemp paper and used the whole racism thing and helped made marijuana illegal so he could control the media industry. I believe, by 1932, every state had made it illegal. Greed... that's what it gets you. Alcohol is the worst thing they could ever legalize. It's too addicting for people and it can make you violent/unaware and bring out the worst.

 

I've never smoked weed in my life, but I think it definitely should be legalized. Alcohol is much more dangerous than weed. A lots of people died for example in car crash, and they usually were drunk, not stoned. When you're drunk you can't drive car, and when you smoke weed you can. Of course, nobody should smoke weed like every day, but I don't find it bad if you smoke it occasionaly. And it wouldn't be so interesting to kids if it wasn't prohibited.

 

Exactly... but if it was legalized, some day the government would try to enforce strict regulations on it which would also bring down the quality and they would put additives in just like phillip morris and every other company out there does to cigarettes...

 

You're probably right... Still, I think they should legalize it. I mean, my parents are both smoking cigarettes, and I would like better they were smoking weed. Hey, just try to imagine your parents stoned! Ha ha!

Marijuana isn't all that bad compared to other legalized shit, like cigarettes. I mean, cigarettes contain cyanide and that's like....bad for you. Yeah...

I personally think they should both be legal, have a legal age of 18 for consumption, and I don't like the idea of anything being taxed, but I would pay it. Whatever I have to do to get pot legal, ya know!

I've never seen that documentary... all history is the same, it's only biased.

Wonder why not many die in a car crash when stoned? Cos it's illegal and therefore, more people are drunk than stoned these days...and you can't drive car when you're stoned, hun.

I'd allow both or ban both. But if both were legal, I'd put way larger limits on it, so it would be almost illegal again, hehe.

For the life of me, I will never understand how the legalization of marijuana somehow takes precedence over poverty, war, education issues, terrorism, disease....the list goes on. If you honestly believe that the fact that you can't smoke your precious "herb" is the most pressing issue on the table today, you need to get your head out of your ass and look at people who are really suffering. I've tried pot before--should I be arrested? No. But I'm not about to make it into a bigger deal than it actually is.
