So I got my nose pierced last night, on the right side. It wasn't until later that I realized I wanted it on the left side. Damned mirror. Now I am kicking myself and considering letting it close up and piercing the other side. I am just worried about scarring on the right side if I do that (It was done with a needle) But anyway, I was wondering what other people's opinions were about which side of the nose should be pierced, or looks best when pierced. Left? Right? Or does it matter?
i hate when people ask such questions, you decide, its your body, your choice. It should matter to you where you want it pieced, not other people, usually is a sign that you're getting body mods becuase other people will think its cool, and you dont really care. but i'll put in a my 2cents quickly, why not get both nostils pierced, you can wear a stud in both or a loop in both or one in each
Your nose your choice. It won't scar if it heals properly. If you want it on the other side bad enough, take it out and spray the hole with warm saline solution twice a day while massaging it. The warm water and massaging it increases blood flow to the area, causing it to heal faster.
Thats fun! I always wanted a ring on one side and a stud on the other like ani d had for a while... or maybe she still does a have it im not relaly sure. You should post pictures once its done
I've got my left side pierced. I've had the same spot pierced about 5 times and the scar is barley noticable.....you shouldnt have a problem should you decide to take it out. I think it looks awesome when people put a stud on one side and a hoop on the other. ......hmmmm I might consider doing that too. *ponders*
Leave it in for a while, maybe it'll grow on ya... I got the right side pierced, because my ears are asymmetrically pierced and I wanted to balance my face out, hehe....
I have my stud on the right...I guess in Africa they traditionally do it on the left, in India on the right. I just picked my favorite side of my face, I guess a silly reason why I did it on the right was because my left eye has "lazy eye" so I cannot see much, but I can see the sparkle of my stud when I look down with my right eye...pretty simple now that I think about it, I didn't want it on the left since it was hard for me to enjoy when looking at it. I have seen equal precent of people with left and right, so it doesn't matter I would assume.
I have 2 nostril studs on the right side of my nose and my advice is to ask your piercer what side would suit you best because on most people one side of their nose is slightly fatter or more flarred out than the other so it would look best to have the piercing on the skinner side. So yeah, my advice is ask your piercer but definatly keep your nostril stud in for now, I am kind of against taking out piercings unless infected badly
i did my left side, but just bc i like my left profile better.. anyway, i don't think there are any interpretations of what left or right side means really. it's just an aesthetic thing. unless you're indian, then think they put it in their left side if they're unmarried, i think.. either way, it's about how it looks on your own face. think of your face as a painting, which needs balance. If you have a beauty mark on one side of your face, them put the piercing on the opposite side, to balance things out, get it?
I agree with post #2 -- it's entirely up to you. Now, for my opinion. I don't like nose piercings at all. I think they're actually ugly. Same for stuff in the lip, and eyebrow. I like ear piercings, but typically only the tradition earlobe ones, not the cartilege stuff. I think that for something to be pierce-worthy, it should be a dangling or protruding part -- like an earlobe, or a nipple, or a labia. Not something that's flat in the middle of something, like the navel or the librette and such. Eyebrows are neither dangling nor protruding. Might as well put a ring through your cheek. I guess I'm just old-fashioned... -Jeffrey
I know this British couple who come in with their son to the resturant I work at on Sunday mornings for brunch. One of the ladies has her lip pierced in the left corner and the other has her cheek pierced. It's not in the middle of the cheek, it's kind of high up just accross from the bottom of her nose. Both of their piercings actually look really good on them, and they happen to be very successful in their careers.
I got mine on my right side because I tend to sleep on my left side more often. Not that it really mattered because I ended up getting an industrial later on in my left ear and I dealt with the pain. But you might consider that if you're like me, and sleep on your side with your face smushed into a pillow
