    And yes, at one point there were guns advertised for sale on silk road. The website itself was just an online marketplace that took a cut, they didn't actually sell anything.

    Sheep Marketplace I like too but it's smaller, plus I keep hearing bad things about it o_O

    That whole scene is a bit shady right now, caution would be advised. A new start up I read about has already went down, with the guy apparently taking peoples deposits too. Be careful out there!

    Are you in Canada? Here in the US handguns aren't registered or licensed unless it's a full automatic pistol made prior to 1986.

    Doesn't every gun (hand, or otherwise) have a unique serial number etched into it that gets registered/written down somewhere in a normal legal retail sale?

    laws may differ by state. here in ny state you have to get a license (they call it a Pistol Permit) in order to legal purchase a handgun.

    a rifle or shotgun you can walk into the store, buy it, and walk out after a background check. and i'm pretty sure they all have serial numbers like writer just said.
