Why do white people call Black Americans African Americans?

Fun fact: In the United States black Americans prefer to be called Blafrican. The etymology coming from Blackula, a famous black vampire.

 

Why is it that whenever I state an opinion that doesn't line up with your quaint view of the world it is empty by your standards?
Did you miss the explanation or did you miss the understanding of it?

Is division between people not a problem? Does this term not divide people? Are there not similar terms in other countries?

At this stage in my life I think I know that there are good and bad people in the world - of all races etc etc etc.
I wouldn't call the 'bad' people what you do, though.
And I think hiding behind 'tradition' or that's what they say in your part of the world really cuts it.
If you do actually have black friends or you are around black people (good and bad) start throwing around the N word - you know, it's only a word.

By the way...I've yet to see a thread or two or three or four, making fun of white people, EVER. And I've been on this site a damn long time. However every year there are multiple threads...flame wars about black people and racism. With the majority of people speaking about the issue, without ever experiencing the things they claim do or don't exist themselves.
