I have recently come by an amount of 4-HO-MiPT. I am fond of the liquid-solution measuring method. I wonder whether any smart chemists can advise on what, if anything, 4-HO-MiPT is soluble in. Water? Alcohol? Also can you advise how to make sure the desired amount is totally dissolved and remains that way?

    Thanks.

Just weigh it out with a scale. The 4-HO are notoriously unstable in solution. Most tryptamines are actually..

It should be the fumarate salt but it and the HCl salt are both soluble in water, as well as alcohol.

The freebase I'm not sure, it wouldn't be water soluble, probably soluble in alcohol but not sure to what extent. It would be soluble in non-polar solvents.

Most likely you have the salt.

Yes it is the fumarate salt. What is the nature of the instability in solution? If I dissolved my whole cache in water would I be risking loss of the whole thing due to chemical breakdown or what?

Tryptamines aren't generally that stable in solution thought I don't have any personal experience in storing a solution of said chemical long term. I'm not sure about how fast it would degrade in solution but it appears storing it as powder in a sealed baggy with some silica gel in a cool dark place is best for long term stability.

I'm not sure the quantity you have or how long you plan to store the solution but you could make a solution with a portion of it and see if it seems to degrade any.
