I can speak basic conversational Chinese, and very soon I will be starting to learn Korean as I am moving to Korea in 2 weeks.
I've heard that Chinese is one of the hardest languages to learn. Did you take classes, listen to audio or something else?
I took lessons as a hobby for a year in New Zealand, then moved to a city in China where not many people spoke English and kept on having lessons, as well as just having to speak it every day. It is so freaking hard, I never got any better than lower intermediate, lol. It's so useful to learn these days, though. And it's a beautiful language. One day I will resume learning it. But for the next two years, I will be speaking, reading and breathing Korean.
Good luck with both. I'd love to learn Chinese - maybe I'll try after I get a whole lot further with Spanish.
I had a straight outta Brooklyn Jamaican friend who spoke fluent Chinese. Watching him carry a conversation at the take out was uncanny. Uncandy
My buddy is Jamasian. This is his Chinese mom with crazy patois. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YW3TmlslGo"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YW3TmlslGo
I think Cherea abandoned this thread because it showed someone he dislikes has something in common with him. ...or maybe it's not gender based enough. Soo! Why do you think that Mann, Frau, Junge have gender influenced articles and Madchen is gender neutral? (I really gotta get some quick links to accented characters)
So after Germany and Japan lose the next war(as they always do), do you plan to sneak off to Argentina? I reckon Argentinianish is a bastard to learn. Because I've looked everywhere for an online course. But NO-ONE does it
I actually learned to read and write Hebrew a few years ago. And then forgot most of it again since I never use it outside of Israel.
This thread made me watch Top Secret again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w_mBnzyVTg"]top secret - german lessons - YouTube There is Sauerkraut in my lederhosen. Classic stuff

I just got as far as learning the Hebrew Alphabet to learn Yiddish, only to find that Yiddish has added ore letters in it, though the language is of low German origin.
