Ima replace my statement.. I've met one honest heroin addict in my life, but the addict in question only did it once in my presence because he was already a quitter. and he puked and hated it and we were 19. I've never done heroin. we're 30 and I don't know the guy anymore, but I know people that know him, and he does not do heroin.. he drinks a shit ton of beer though.

I guess I'm still confused as to what this has to do with the OP and addicts being thieves but I'll take into account that you say you're drunk.

yeah some people are like this...

some just come back when they need you, in which case it seems pretty selfish to me and I would start to lose interest in wanting to help them as I would just feel used, and some I guess are just... a bit sloppy socially. The latter is totally fine by me.

I hope it works out ok with that friend of yours though :)

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, deviate. I'm sure she cares about people, and things would be different if she were on the right road. Cares about dope more, at this point in her life. I hope she manages to wriggle up on dry land.

I had a friend like this, she used to call me sporadically and threaten suicide. Then I wouldn't hear from her for weeks or months and I would worry and worry.

I'm assuming it's a reference to one of the greatest punk albums (in my opinion) of all time.

And thanks for the nice words. It's just, I dunno. It's not about me I'm just fucking bummed out for this chick and I fix stuff for a living but I can't fix this. I was going to take it all to her mom's today but got slammed at work and it was easy to put off another day. But I need to get it there before the week is out. She already said that I did more for her than anyone else but I just see good in her. And she did stuff for me too. First time she came into my house she was like damn you need a woman, and started cleaning the place.

The talks, it was like what the hell does she know me better than I know myself? We had a lot of fun just doing stupid shit like going into stores and acting like we were the only two people in there. I was trying to distract her from going to cop some more pills or bags of dope. Funny how someone can open your eyes without realizing they are doing it. It was the least I could do to pay her back once I realized how bad off she really is. I need to get this shit to her asap.

Do we need to be friends??? YES! If I could only listen to one album for the rest of my life it would be ....And out come the wolves. I love that you knew that reference.

By nature, men are 'fixers'. Where as women are more emotional and want to cry or talk. Men just want to fix the problem. Fix whatever is going on to make everything happy again. Unfortunately this isn't something you can fix for her. :( She needs to decide to fix herself. It sounds like you want to fix her as much for yourself as you do for her. I'm not saying that in a bad way. She is obviously someone that made a mark on your heart. It's too bad she can't see herself through your eyes.

So you like Rancid huh? One of my favorite bands, but really anything by Tim Armstrong. Got introduced to Operation Ivy when I was maybe 10? And it went from there.

Have you heard A Poet's Life? Or the Tim Timebomb collaborations? I'm in a mellow mood tonight, that's what is great about their music, something for every mood.

And you are someone I want to be friends with for sure. Thanks for everything you said. And I know what you mean about fixing her for my sake as much as hers, there's some truth in that. I don't like not being able to fix things. But I just want her to live up to her potential and be happy and prosperous, the girl is so fucking smart it kills me. And we vibed because I'm just as self destructive, or have been, still am to a degree.. just in different ways. I never judged her because as I said I'm killing myself too just more slowly. I just hate to see someone like her doing that to herself. She's not angry at the world, she still sees good in everything. It's fucked up.

Rancid is my #1 favorite band. It's not for everyone. There are days that I wake up with Bad Town from Op Ivy in my head out of the blue. I <3 Time Armstrong. I met him in.....2003? I think it was. The year they were on the Warped Tour. I have a picture of him and I together. I was rocking some pretty big liberty spikes. haha. I love the Tim Timebomb music. I'll message you so we don't hijack your serious thread with Rancid talk.

before high school started I met a guy I fell in love with. he was older and had a criminal history. I believed in him and was there for him because I was a kid.
My parents disapproved, I had to stop seeing him. We snuck around, but he, being older, would disappear for months.
I'm past high school and occasionally I get a letter from him, from prison

All in all, if you feel like you can help your friend in some way, do it.

I agree. It's the most mainstream song they have. I'm a real fan though. Not just one song. I own all of their music. I've been a Rancid fan for almost 20 years. It was a tough decision between RubySoho6 and StMary as a name on here.

i am a person who comes and goes. intending no hurt, but having a deep seated need to spend a very great deal of my time, alone.

on the other paw, i take commitments seriously and sincerely. sometimes at considerable emotional cost to myself. it is for this reason i am somewhat cautious of making them.

at any rate, i seldom intrude far into anyone's life, as i find people not the most interesting thing.

likewise, not wishing to cause anyone the depression of unfulfilled companionship, i try to avoid making anyone emotionally dependent on my company.

that too has a price. because i do after all love affection, as much if not more then anyone else. but my need for solitude is a real need, and much of what i find gratifying in life requires it.

One of my favorite albums and one of my favorite tracks, also the entire Life Won't Wait. That is fucking weird. This girl wouldn't lose me simply because she's not evil, plenty have and that track fits those situations perfectly. Keep posting never enough Rancid in your life.
