Erm.....I would like to know where you get your Dread Beads from? And also if I got Dreads is there a way of getting rid of them with out cutting all my hair off? Thank You. Peace, Love.
You can comb them out. Your hair is total shite though, it gets all damaged and broken etc. Apparently if you cut your dreads to about 3" long and comb it out you can get decent hair. I just liked cutting all mine off
Silly, dread beads are just beads. Beads that have big enough holes to fit dreads in, be careful where yo put em tho they have a tendency to smack you. There comes a point when your dreads are locked when its too late to comb them out. I combed out my first set after a month and my hair was total shit after that.
I just wondered because I have seen some websites that sell Dread merchandice but I was hoping that some people would know places closer to home, than the U.S.A.
where are you from rainbow?? you can use any beads you want, i buy wooden ones and drill a bigger hole in them, also make them out of fimo. If you have real phatties then even small finger rings work really well and ear cuffs.
Yeah, I used to work at DreadheadHQ and they had some awesome ones made out of hemp. Be creative!! Some glass ones are really pretty too.
just do google searches for dread beads. most any on line selling glass blower offers custom beads. or premade dread beads. and yeah, combings a major pain, but you can have normal hair. we chopped her 4 year old dreads to her shoulder then soaked em in vo5 conditioner all night long. spent the next 18 hours picking, combing and spraying down with water. result was long HEALTHY hair to the middle of her back. maybe her's grew out healthy cuz it wasn't the hair she started the dreads with.... the hair she had, had all grown in when she already had dreads so it was never back combed and stuff. funny thing.... she had straight hair before dreads.... it now grows in curly LOL
i combed my dreads out (i wanted them fatter and combed closer to the roots) and when i was finished the tub looked like hell but my hair looked fabulous. i guess i made it do that 'feathering' thing that they'll to at salons by breaking off strands. as for beads, i aquired some nice plain wood ones from hobby lobby that i was going to decorate. edit: my dreads were about a month old and locked fairly well (really well in some areas). i used a bunch of conditioner and just kept ruthlessly at it for only a couple hours
You can get dreadlock removal kits (www.knottyboy.com) but I personally have never tryed these kits so I couldn't tell you how they work. Peace.
Yeah DreadHeadHQ was the place that I saw. Well thanks everyone I've put Beads in my hair before but thay didn't look as groovy as the phatty ones that other people had. Hey, Fleassy I live in Matfield can you get Fat Beads from the Bead Shop in Brighton?
