Still not decided if I want black flag or not. I'm starting to think that it is getting a bit too repetitive. We'll see

That's a shame about the ships! Would you say it's better than AC3? Whilst I enjoyed AC3 I'd say it was my least favorite of the series.

You not fancy next gen? <asmodean

I'm not sure I fancy them yet, but I certainly not gonna spend the money on it any time soon. Not in a hurry. I was in a hurry to get this game though :D It's a typical AC game so it all depends in what ways you don't want it to be repetitive.
Like yes, the combat works basically the same, the level design regarding to guards, how houses are built and look, the exploring of the map by climbing church towers etc. But I think stuff like that is just what makes it a consistent series.
I remember being more impressed with the naval stuff in AC3 but that might be because it worked pretty good in that game too and it was totally new there: not much has improved in it in AC4 imo except that you can also let go of the ship's controls and just walk around the deck, dive off the ship. And of course the entering of other ships. But nothing really fancy so far.

Not sure it is better yet, I'm not even halfway through ;) :p Both have it perks in it's specific setting and storyline. Why was AC3 your least favourite of all?

I didn't like Connor as a main character to be honest, I didn't think he was particularly likeable and seriously lacked any charisma. I found the setting pretty drab too, don't get me wrong I understand that was the period etc but I don't know I just didn't feel it was visually appealing as the previous games. The storyline just didn't grab my attention.

I loved the navel missions (until I had to 100% sync them all for the plat lol), I thought they were a great addition to the game.

Yeah, the story was delivered a bit sloppy in that one I agree. I was not particular impressed by it neither in that one. Same with the characters, they were there but not particulary intriguing. I think some of the templar enemies were more intriguing characters haha (that guy with the black mustasche for instance, I think he was called Charles something). I do think Boston and the wild and certain other aspects looked great. Overall I had more fun with it than Revelations for instance, but I enjoyed them all a lot so far :)

Yeah with revelations I was disappointed there was not more Altair bits in it, really like those parts. I still think they could have got another game out of Altair.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed AC3 it just for me was the weakest. I didn't like the online for 3 either for some reason. On brotherhood and revelations I levelled into prestige but with 3, I just got to 20 for the trophy and left it at that. Think it was the maps...

Oh yeah, I'm only talking about the single player mode. Have not played online. I was really disappointed by the Altair bits in Revelations, frankly they sucked. Yes, it was a nice idea to bring him back and play other bits of his life but how it worked out was pretty lame. They could have made another game focussing on the time before and/or after the 3rd crusade indeed and made an awesome story and setting too.
Now they just filled in the gaps at different times in his life already by letting you walk around as him in short missions in the area you already been to death in in the first game. Not much new except the insight in the rest of his life. The only nice thing was the interaction he had with Ezio and the part were Ezio is in that area (Masyaf) in his day. I really liked that :)

You should try online, one of my favourite games to play online (aside from BF3), it's just so different to anything else out there. I would recommend ACB or R but I bet the servers are pretty dead now :(

I should buy xbox live gold again some time. It's a minor disadvantage that online gaming is not for free as it is on the ps3. But I'm mainly gaming for good story's and fun settings, not for intense mp action. I know it can be a lot of fun too but since it's not my priority and it costs extra money on the xbox I always leave it like this.
I played Grid 2 at a friends though and that was really a lot more fun racing online since you have human opponents and not AI that are stuck on a programmed track when they're behind or in front of you... Racing is the exception for me when it comes to multiplayer, I actually prefer that above a good singleplayer most times.

Did you ever play split second? Damn that game punished you online if you didn't finish within the top 3, good fun but highly frustrating!

Never played grid 2, but I do like a good racing game. I think the motorstorm games are a blast online, and burnout paradise was also good had a nice variation with the races and challenges.

I have to agree though, while I love a blast online SPs where its at. I don't think good multiplayer can ever make up for a poor SP unless it's a game specifically designed for online play (COD&BF as examples).
