Cant wait. 3 more days!!! Im not sure how I feel about it being during the american revolution. I think they couldve done the french revolution or ancient china or something and that wouldve been cool, but its only becsuse I love learning about the history of other cultures and already know a bit about that revolution. Anywho, Assassins Creed Yayyy!!! :2thumbsup: On a side note, is it just me or was Altair drawn a bit differently in Revelations than he was in the first one? I probably lost everyone right there lol
I too am curious how they will handle the civil war theme. For the most part I envision civil war battles being rows of guy walking towards each other and shooting each other down.. Admittedly I don't know much about this new game, so I'm sure it will be much more than that. By the way, I've only played AC1 and 2. Are the other ones worth playing?
Are you crazy? Of course they are! Assassin's Creed 1 was annoying as hell (you can't sneak at all, you have to constantly fight) but the story was still good. Every game after that was mind blowing and fun. I hate American Revolution stuff but I got the game today anyway because I want to see the end of Desmond's story. Could always sell it if I don't like it but I highly doubt that. You can train your own assassins to help you in battle like in Revelations, you have chain kills and moving hide spots, etc. Everything that was great before was improved even more.
Oh yeah. Brotherhood was my favorite, It was so long and so many things to do. Awesome! Im going to venture out later today and pic up a copy if the third installment.
Well, I just love this series because I like to roam historical places and the story build up: I mean I loved the first AC especially because the 3rd crusade setting but the bit of info you get about the greater scheme of things and how you get it really triggered my interest in the following game, which also started superb (you get to leave that room but the game doesn't explain it all right away) in my opinion. So I just finished the story of Revelations (so I'm ready for AC3 :biggrin which was fairly entertaining and Istanbul looked great too. But frankly the Altaïr sequences suck. I mean the area he roams is always the same fricking thing you already saw in AC1 and it doesn't even look as good (it does looks good when you go there as Ezio though) so that was a bit of a dissappointment to be honest. They really should have made that a bit more interesting. Yes he looked a bit different and he sounded different too but to me that didn't really matter. I have high expectations of AC3, I've heard the developing team of AC1 and 2 went straight to develop AC3 and left Brotherhood and Revelations to another development team so they had all their time to focus on this next game. I saw there is lots of free roaming in the wilds too and you can climb the trees instead of just buildings and rocks. Hope the story and setting keeps up the quality.
The forest areas look absolutely amazing. The tree climbing is fun and it's not as easy to fall as it is in the other games. You can hunt too which is really fun. There's naval battles, and so much stuff to do other than just the main missions. I'm so eager to know how it ends I'm playing mainly story missions and then playing it again for side missions and achievements.
Hahaa I have only played story missions until this point (except for killing british soldiers in Boston in all ways possible, max combo kill so far is 8 ) and I just got to the point where I can climb trees and hunt. There was a really unexpected plottwist before that! I won't elaborate here of course but the twist and the build up of the story so far (I'm not so far yet but still) keeps me highly entertained
If you like historical settings these series has some cities in different time periods worked out real good. The bigger story is more science fiction though. I remember that bothered me a bit when the first game came out since I saw it centered about the 3rd crusade and I thought I'd rather enjoy such a setting without SF elements. After the first game I was sold, now that I think of it the build up of the overall story (although somewhat over the top) is pretty good as well. At the end of the first game you get a glimpse of the bigger picture but not much detail until the second game.
I have long since beat the game and I had to come back and reply again. IT IS SO WORTH IT. You don't see the ending coming at all. You're thinking "Oh my god...what the fuck".
i lost interest in Assassin's Creed 1 and quit it, and i haven't been back since then. i heard 3 was good
If that's the reason you haven't played the others then ask anyone and they'll tell you that every other Assassin's Creed game is amazingly improved. In 1, the gameplay is awful and there's no stealth. You can't avoid enemies at all and the missions are tedious. Trust me, read the synopsis of the first one on Wikipedia and then play the 2nd game and you'll get hooked. And the combat improves so much between each of the games, the third one is the best in my opinion, combat-wise.
I am playing it on the 360, it has a lot of good things but also some flaws in my opinion. For instance I expected to be there to be more details in sea battles (both in graphic as in decisions in gameplay etc.). Once you entered a few ships it all feels like more of the same. The map and forts that you can conquer and how to travel with your ship on sea are well done I think. Of course the game will look even better on the PS4 but I am not planning on buying a new console.
