Saw the male deer again this morning. If the hunters leave him alone for a few years he's gonna be really big... He's large bodied now and only 4 points.

I gotta take down the other half of that tree and cut it up today. I can hardly move now... *mumbles incoherently*

Technically there is more than half left to cut. The tree had a double trunk that separated at about 3 feet off the ground so I was cutting the up hill side part somewhere between 4-5 foot. (head level... ) I had to get this part to fall up hill, which it did perfectly I might add... Anyways, that part was about 20 or so inches thick... other side is about the same. The main trunk is almost 3 foot.


Today I cut the other side and drop it downhill into the driveway between two trees then I'll cut off the main trunk at about a foot and a half. It was getting between these two trees that had me cutting the first part to fall uphill... It wouldn't have fit without damage or getting hung-up in those other trees.


Hang-ups become instant "widow makers"...



Oh! and my climbing days are over. (I hope)

I hadn't considered a ''y'' tree...mine is also a y but its clear to come straight down on the road

.besides...the y is about 20 feet in the air so there is no dealing with it in 2 pieces

The tree that fell down on the corner split into two tree trunks at the bottom, and that's why it split in two and fell over on its own......it wasn't even windy that day

 

there is an oak tree where two made one not far from here. you can walk under it like an arch.
