So I open a stall at a ridiculously big indoor market next week. On one of the wine routes down here, winter's been awesome so far - they've done really well so hopes up. If I stay 'til summer I'll be flying cos it's tourist paradise! Fingers crossed, gonna be a ride anyway So, here's an update. ^ Was great fun, took like 15 minutes(only A4). Threw a shitload of leftover paint at the canvas when I was in a mood, and saw that dude hiding in there. Few more strokes and boom. I was gonna make it a bit more detailed, but I dunno - I like it like that
Every single piece is awesome! What a talent you are blessed with...I'm certain the tourists (and locals!) will love you. No matter how rich and well known you become, please keep posting.
Thanks Lynn Yeah, things have been going pretty well! been approached by a few restaurant and cafè owners to ask if I could decorate their walls, and to use them as an outlet. Also finding it pretty hard to keep stock for the stall.. I want to work towards an exhibition but I have no time at all because things are selling too quickly, and the commissions are piling up... which is a pain in the ass, but as far as problems go it's quite a good one Will be uploading some more soonish, just haven't been bothered to recently
Your work never ceases to amaze me dude! You're a realist, and yet your style is unique. That's really rare Maybe I'll go to south africa someday and you can show me a thing or two...
Thank you both again Definitely though Hedge, and I'd be more than happy to try. I make most of it up as I go along at the moment lol, not actually sure how I do it, the pictures kinda paint themselves So in that respect, "I" can't actually take much credit... but yeah, the doors are open, so get your ass down south.. and I bought some basil too
So here's an update, a selection of things.. actually all pretty recent.. My personal favourite so far.. viewing it in real life I actually get the feeling that she's breathing in.. kinda surreal, very pleased though And this is my personal favourite of my landscapes... my previous one's seem a bit flat, so I think I'm slooowly getting a better sense of depth in them. Atmospheric depth is a trip.. kinda have to bend the planes a little bit, or at least bend the light. Fuck knows what I'm saying, but it's fascinating to think about anyway Motherfucker of a still life... It seemed like a great idea to find some wrinkly old chilli to paint, until I actually started painting it. Get SO lost in those wrinkles, it's a perceptual maze of doom..
Cuddles the Panda "Source". Lines haven;t come up that great on the photo, but it looks pretty cool in real life.. pulls you in started off ina acrylics, it was COMPLETELY different.. there's probably about 8 different paintings underneath this one, but it finally settled and then I went over it in oils for that extra zing Playing with the colourful eyes and shit, think it may catch on so I'm a ridin' this wave. Wanna play around with expressions, cos the eyes are... very expressive
:2thumbsup: Thank you, sah! That was actually me and some friends in Knysna about... 14 years ago, roughly. I raided the photo albums Caught a sandshark with the help of those shrimps
Drew this a while ago, but forgot about it. Stumbled upon it today on a small amount of 'cid, found my watercolours and decided to go crazy. Kinda cool, but I think I buggered up the drawing which took AGES to get right. Mind being a bit scattered, I forgot the paint wasn't dry and closed the book so some colours ran away from the lines, but hey whatever, it was fun, and I rekindled my love of watercolours. Definitely going to be doing more with them... they have a simple elegance that I fricken love. Plus, watching them do what they do is just... wow. Had some moments of ecstasy when I realised just what was happening when the colours were mixing.. it's hard not to take the universe for granted :0
You have some really nice work here.. I like the somewhat impressionistic feel to your pieces... inspires me to draw more.. everything I do these days is digital...not the same as drawing....
