Don't waste your money. CO2 is easily obtained by allowing white vinegar to slow-drip into baking soda. Something as simple as a plastic jug with a hole in it dripping into a bucket of baking soda works great. Of course, if you use CO2 you cannot have constant flow ventilation in the grow room. For what it's worth, some people claim that spraying seltzer (NOT soda) water on the plant provides CO2 to the plant, but all I've ever gotten where marginal results at best with this tehcnique.
One thing I'm thinking about trying supplying CO2 with dry ice, which is frozen CO2. On the next batch I'm going to put dry ice in a plate or shallow dish on a shelf above my light. As the dry ice melts, gaseous CO2 will kind of cascade down the grow area and over my plants. I'd use it as a pick-me up for my plants a couple times a week. I doubt the ice would effect the temp drastically and I use passive ventalation, so I don't expect a change there. It's an idean, ya know?
If you look on the net @fearlessgardener.com or supernaturalbrand.com or if in the UK contact treeoflifeuk@aol.com you will find a product called excellofiz I think? I have not tried it yet but as soon as I can I am going to. there grow system is great to
in order for co2 to be effective everything in your grow has to be perfect or it's just a waste! plants actually dont need a co2 supplement, if you want to help them grow use h2o2 for the roots it makes a big difference
Hey budfarmer, some more info on the h2o2? like another great link like in your previous posts? Thanx. b1
To say everything in a grow room has to be perfect for co2 to have benifits is absurd, all that is required is proper nutrients and ample supply of proper light spectrum.Green plants use co2/water in the presence of light to synthesize organic compounds into elements it can use(food),also known as photosynthesis. If co2/water are at levels below what a plant can use for maximam efficiency then they perform to that level and no greater. The only way to waste co2 is by not giving plants the proper nutrients or low light levels otherwise any increase above 300 ppm wil only benefit plants growth. the results of increased co2 is substantial in the growth rate any plant that uses chlorophyll in the process of photsynthesis period.
NAMASTE Perfect.Never seen that one applied to the use of Co2.In fact and on a botany leval Co2 has great needs in an indoor growing area. But not having it will not hurt but seeing what can become of your garden after you use it you will see how great it is in the overall growth. Same site I saw the great amount of info about the subject "lighting" on. Amazing collection of stuf there. Thanx BudFarmer. b1
H2O2 is hydrogen peroxide, which I use for killing mold on plant stems, not sure how you use it for c02. If your garden isnt more than 4-5 plants, I never thought co2 was really needed.
