You bring up the other part of the argument, Voyage. Is this, in a sense, reverse-sexism, due to the social, political, and legal double standards?
Yeah. Pretty much every guy I know has a story similar to this one. I think it illustrates my point rather well. Men do not truly perceive what society clearly labels as "rape" to be rape in this case.
perhaps. picture this: woman charged with raping a man, acquitted due to the victim "asking for it". THAT would be some good reverse-sexism.
I have slept with women that I didn't really want sex with. They kept pushing and ordering me drinks until finally I was drunk enough to go home with them. Yes, I was raped by women and I am man enough to admit it. I hope you guys feel sympathetic for me.
If you've got a boner, I don't think you're being raped. Unless it was a viagra roofie... Now, if a woman violates you with an object against your will, that's rape.
Good point. Many women suffer extreme guilt for having an orgasm while bent raped. I saw it on Springer
There are often times when a drunken hookup becomes rape When the woman sobers up and regrets doing what she did. Or she may be blackout drunk and has fed unknowingly. The guy may be just as drunk, and both drunken parties consent. Men are charged with rape all the time when the woman has a change of heart after sobering up.
This made me want to punch the screen. Seriously. Try thinking about it. With a bit of empathy and some knowledge of how the human body functions.
Yeah, about the first part of this post....there is rape and there is being PRESSURED. Or feeling pressured and giving in....either because of persistence or being messed up (usually drunk). I have "given in" (uh, many, many years ago- I wouldn't put myself in situations where this could occur as I am now older and wiser) because of being drunk and feeling pressure (disgusting begging) and have given in and it gives you a FEELING like being raped....however, you must remember, that is not actually rape. But pressuring a messed up person is not a good thing to do- it's really sleazy. And disgusting. But it is separate from rape. And yes, a female can slip a guy something. Or rape a guy when he's sleeping. Or other things like that to force herself on a guy and that would be rape and punished like any of similar crime.
Really? Are you kidding me? I'm not a guy so I'm not 100% on this... But I was pretty sure arousal and consent were too different things. You could be drugged and saying "no" but you're body could be saying "yes", which is not consent. It is statements, such as your post, that would make a male too ashamed/embarrassed to come forward after a rape.
Sexual arousal can happen whether or not the person wants it to. It can be involuntary. Women have reported having an orgasm while being raped, which can lead to some very heavy psychological issues. As already pointed out a few times in this thread, arousal doesnt equal enjoyment.
Yeah... I skimmed through the statements about the females (similar to the male arousal thing) with... disinterest, because it is so silly that anyone would not know (male or female) that arousal can happen without your brain (or words) wanting it to. I mean... I honestly thought everyone knew these things.
So by that rationale, if a male teacher has sex with a 13 year old girl who wants it, it's not rape? It seems some people are struggling to grasp this concept. Any non-consensual sexual activity is rape. That's pretty much the definition. And yes, women raping men should be punished just as severely. On the same note, women doing a job should be paid the same as a man doing that same job. What should happen is not always what happens in practice.
