Lately, it feels like the news has been dominated by tragedies: natural disasters, evil people, and sometimes just carelessness.
But it would be a mistake to become cynical.
We've put together 31 charts that we think will help restore your faith in humanity.

    A few Charts

1 Everyone is working way less
2 Democracy is in. Autocracy out
3 We spend more on leisure
    4 Infant mortality is collapsing
    5 Longevity is on rise

    and so on....

sadly a bigger population will only speed up our inevitable demise, but sure, rather this than 1900s racism and stuff.

    A few Charts

1 Everyone is working way less = higher unemployment
2 Democracy is in. Autocracy out = sham democracies controlled by oligarchs

3 We spend more on leisure = higher unemployment
4 Infant mortality is collapsing = either lower birthrate or impending overpopulation

5 Longevity is on rise = wealthy people are living longer but with more chronic illness + exhaustion of natural resources with overpopulation

    :2thumbsup:

I agree, e7m8. I was just going to mention the everyone is working less one is related to higher unemployment as well as employers unable to pay their employees for working more hours.

This did make me smile a little bit, but I do think some of it is just related to the high unemployment rate

What can I do to change my life for the better. Besides random acts of kindness. I tried a lot of angel kind things and people made fun of me and did not do me any good. I want to do something to make money, something smart and cheap. God bless.

Why is there so much bad stuff in the news. I did not know there was so much bad stuff going on. I would like to hear something good and encouraging
    try me. God bless.

I don't see anything of value from those charts. In many cases the data is upto 30 years old. Old data serves no purpose other than historic comparison.

logan your doing it all wrong, smoke some pot and look at the charts again.
then smoke some pot and look at the charts upside down.
then smoke some pot and look at the charts in a mirror.
then smoke some pot and think of 31 ways to waste time and get paid.

A chart ain't gonna show me nothing. Instead the alleged facts can be made up. They can be fictitious. They can be lies. I don't have and never have had faith in humanity, because it's too imperfect. Only as imperfect as those that it is made of. Instead I have faith in Jesus and His Father God, and that's enough for me.

People who believe in the bible (fiction purported as being fact) accusing others that their objective facts are fictitious. That kind of accusation deserves the oxymoron award.

Overworked America: 12 Charts That Will Make Your Blood Boil

    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2011/06/speedup-americans-working-harder-charts

Productivity has surged, but income and wages have stagnated for most Americans. If the median household income had kept pace with the economy since 1970, it would now be nearly $92,000, not $50,000.

For Americans as a whole, the length of a typical workweek hasn't changed much in years. But for many middle-class workers, job obligations are creeping into free time and family time. For low-income workers, hours have declined due to a shrinking job market, causing underemployment.

    Proud to be an American?

The US is part of a very small club of nations that don't require...
