my dreads are 7 weeks old, and the tips are very undreaded, and i get a lot of stupid comments like, "what happened to the dreads man?" but anyway. i just washed the locks with dreadheadhq soap and i used my spray with rosemary hair oil, tea tree oil, sea salt, and lemon. and now my hair feels kinda greasy, do you think that the rosemary hair oil and tea tree oil could cause the knots to be slipping out? also i heard that when you wash your hair its the water falling down your dreads that untangles then slightly, and i ride my bike a lot everyday so i also considered that that could be causing the tips to knot up. any opinion? or answers?
umm... i think they are just going through stages. Mine are doing that too, mine are like 5 or 6 weeks and people this year at schoool are like u need to redo your dreads, they are coming out. i just say no i dont, dreads dont dread up in a day, they take years. And thats true, i mean after a while they will be pretty dreaded. Mine are dreaded in the middle, but not oon the outside and people need to understand that. Idk about the rosemary stuff tho, never tried it. but i dont think u need more rosemary or tea tree oil, doesnt that shampoo have stuff like that to stop itches in there? just use the salt water and lemon juice and wash ur hair w/ the dreadhead soap. peace- caitlin
haha same here its annoying. .ddhq yuckky and dont use tee tree and rose mary with the sea salt mixture just the water salt and lemon juce
i use knottyboy shampoo bar, and its workin pretty darn good haha. i noticed my hair seems to want to knot up a lot quicker with it.
Eh, I got a lot of the "Dude... your dreads are coming out" comments, too. They're in their bratty little toddler stage.
Just re-do the ends if they start to unravel. It's just something they'll do for a while. It's different for everyone. The more fine your hair the more easily it'll slip out. But, I don't think the oil is doing it, unless you're using way too much. After I spray my dreads with a water/lemon/sea salt spray i made they'll feel a little greasy. I think it's just the residue the salt leaves honestly. *hugs* Jessie
I think this is a good option than shampoos with large quantity of chemicals. salt spray is an amazing hair product that can create waves and curls in your hair. Moreover it can be prepared at home with ease. Surprised? But where was it all this while? Sea salt sprays are a secret for creating those loose curly beach wave hairstyle. They are perfect for all hair types, textures and lengths and give a sensual, soft, frizz-free wave to your hair. The plus point is that they can be made easily at home. Here’s what you need to make sea salt spray for your hair
