tomorrow I'm going to a local distillery to buy some whiskey. I've been dying to try it. mmmmm whiskey. They make a bunch of different specialty moonshines too.
Its really good when its made well. I've had some peach moonshine before that hardly tasted like alcohol at all but it knocked me on my ass. Most moonshine I've had tasted like straight up grain alcohol and knocks you on your ass, so the end result is the same haha but its nice when the taste is pleasant
You've never had moonshine? In northern VA someone was always going to southwest VA and picking up loads of it. In FL I know 3 people that make it on a small scale, one of the tool guys always has a jar in his mini fridge to sip on while you buy tools. I like beer way more though. And rum.
Haha, nice! Someone in chat yesterday was talking about an apple pie moonshine that tasted exactly like pie. Also I've heard of people who make moonshine cherries. :drool5:
Nope. I've never even heard of anyone around here having it. Haha, that's awesome about the tool guy. Yeah, I'm more of a beer, whiskey, and wine gal myself. Buuuuut I'd get down on some moonshine.
They sell cherry moonshine at the ABC store here. And i know of a couple people that make their own but for some reason i prefer not to try something without a label in a badly sealed mason jar. There is plenty of good stuff to buy at the store.
I feel like the moonshine they sell at liquor stores is weird. Like buying already made sangria.... just doesn't feel right. I had raspberry moonshine once, and after about 10oz of it on ice I needed to call a friend for a ride because it fucked me uppppppppppp. (I proceeded to drink some more, just sayin' after one cup I already knew I wasn't going to be okay to drive.) It was really strong but still pleasant tasting. Today feels like the perfect day to drink moonshine.
It's like... sold in mason jars and supposed to look authentic, but isn't at all. I don't know when they started selling it in liquor stores for sure, but only within the last year or two.
Anyone been lucky enough to try this beauty? found it in a pub the other week. Wonderfully refreshing. http://www.thornbridgebrewery.co.uk/shop/product.php?s=chiron First post btw. Thought a beer was a good way to say hello
Just paid rent so pretty broke right now, but I typically get down on piss beer (PBR, High Life, etc.), IPAs, and Jameson. And malt liquor. Probably making a 40 run before the night's over.
what would make a beer worth 23 pounds? now i have paid more than that for a beer before but for an american pale ale thats 5% abv???? i could never imagine paying more than 5 bucks...maybe $10 if its at a concert or ballgame.
it's £23 for 12 bottles, not the one. I see how you got to that conclusion though. If it were for one bottle, I'd want to be driven there and back to the pub by the brewer.
Drinking Stone RuinTen IPA. Very strong and very hoppy beer. I am not a huge fan of IPA's and imperial IPA's, but I like the hop profile of this one. And at 10.8% ABV, a single bomber kicks your ass.
Had some simple Beringer Cabernet tonight. It was that kind of evening. I'm itchin' to try Pumpkinhead. I keep hearing people talk about how wonderful it is.
